25.01.2022 School services resume tomorrow Monday 29th with normal pick up times in Lawrence. Maclean school service will be traveling via Grafton until the ferry commences operation. The local service for Lawrence Public School will not be doing the usual loop around Greens Lane as that part of Lawrence Rd is still closed.

25.01.2022 You must give way to a bus when it is leaving a bus stop with it's indicator on and a give way sign displayed. #BusSafetyWeek

25.01.2022 We have only been carrying a few passengers since the 'Stay at Home' policy came in and the last day of school is tomorrow Thursday 9th. That means our School Holiday Timetable will commence on Tuesday the 14th with a daily weekday service to Grafton and the usual service to Maclean each Thursday. If anyone needs further information please pm me. Always remember it is essential travel only - groceries, medical appointments and only 1 person per household. On the bus maintain personal space and do not travel if unwell. Stay safe everyone.

25.01.2022 Just a reminder about our school and passenger services. No service at all today Wednesday or for Thursday. Friday looks very unlikely at this point as well. The river is peaking this morning at Tabulam and Baryulgil so Grafton will see a peak this afternoon and Lawrence probably some time Thursday morning. It's going to take a long time to go down so if you are in Lawrence and need to get to Grafton travel via Pringles and Summerland Way and please be careful.

23.01.2022 Lawrence ferry has apparently resumed service.

22.01.2022 Our school holiday timetable commences on Monday. Daily service to Grafton at 9.30 plus the normal service to Maclean every Thursday at 10.30. As always there are no services on Public Holidays. Have a great holiday everyone.

22.01.2022 Lawrence Rd on Woodford Island is still closed till 2 pm or so.

22.01.2022 In case you missed it, wearing a when you can’t guarantee social distancing is now recommended. Let’s all do our part to keep each other safe #inthistogether

21.01.2022 We have some good news. During the school holidays both of our Hino buses, that do the Grafton and Maclean school runs, have been away having new seats with seat belts retrofitted. This means all of our school service buses are now seat belted. Parents and students are advised it is mandatory to wear seat belts and penalties apply. Hope you have all had great holidays and look forward to seeing you all on Monday.

21.01.2022 Lawrence Rd on Woodford Island and the ferry will still be closed in the morning. We are expecting everything to be open again around lunch time tomorrow so hopefully we will be returning to Lawrence in the afternoon via the Island and over the ferry. Thanks for your patience. Have a happy Easter and a safe and enjoyable school holidays.

20.01.2022 Update for Friday 26th March 2021 - No school or passenger services operating due to flooding and road closures. This includes the local service to Lawrence Public School. Looking forward to resuming operations on Monday and we will update over the weekend what that will be. I would expect normal Grafton school service but Maclean school service to be via Grafton due to the ferry. Also would expect normal service for Lawrence School.... To be confirmed later. Have a great weekend. See more

19.01.2022 Be a responsible pedestrian by obeying traffic signals and looking out before you step out Motorists: never assume a pedestrian has seen you. We all need to look out for each other. #BusSafetyWeek

19.01.2022 Lawrence Rd on Woodford Island remains closed at McFarlane bridge as at 1.30 pm Monday 29th so there will be no service to Woodford Island until the road is cleared. At this stage the Maclean school service will be coming back to Lawrence via Grafton and will arrive around 4.45 pm

16.01.2022 Final day of school services for this year so we are starting our school holiday timetable tomorrow. Daily service to Grafton which starts in Lawrence at 9.30 am. Please message if you would like further information. As always, there are no services on weekends or Public Holidays. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy healthy 2021 from all the team at Lawrence Bus Service.

16.01.2022 Lights flash on the back of buses to warn motorists they're picking up or dropping off kids. Slow down to 40km/h and look out for children crossing. Help keep our kids safe.

16.01.2022 Message from Lawrence Public School - Dear LPS Community Thank you for your support and patience as we prepare for Term 2. Many of you will have heard the Premier announce that students would be returning to school for face to face lessons and I wanted to clarify how LPS will operate for the next few weeks to allow you to begin to plan. Staff will return to school on Monday 27 April and will have a second School Development Day without students on Tuesday 28 April. Term 2 ...will begin for students on Wednesday 29 April. For Week 1 and 2 of Term 2, this will be the same as the last 2 weeks of Term 1. The school will be open for those who need to send their children to school, however wherever possible students should complete their learning at home. Teachers will prepare one unit of learning that all children in their class will complete. Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 will be able to collect a learning package prepared by their class teacher from the school office. Students in years 3-6 will be provided with learning activities through Google Classroom, or if they don’t have internet access in a learning package that can also be collected from the office. They will also take part in zoom meetings for additional instruction. Teachers will continue communicating with parents by email, phone and through the Seesaw App. From Week 3, in addition to remaining open for those families who need to send their children to school, all students will have the opportunity to take part in one face to face lesson each week. At this stage we are still planning the best way to do this to ensure we are supporting the educational needs of our students while also looking after the health and well being of both staff and students. We will provide details to you as soon as we can. The previous post from the Department of Education has a link to the guidelines we will be following and answers parent questions. If you need any further information please contact Mrs Menzies. See more

14.01.2022 Unfortunately due to ferry being out of service and road closure at McFarlane bridge the Maclean school bus will be traveling via Grafton again tomorrow Tuesday 30th. There is a possibility these conditions could continue into Wednesday. Apologies for these unavoidable disruptions. Services to Grafton and the local service for Lawrence Public School are unaffected and run to normal timetables.

13.01.2022 I can now advise Lawrence Rd and the ferry are now fully open to traffic. Our Maclean school bus will be returning to Lawrence this afternoon via Woodford Island and all our services have now returned to normal operation. Please take great care at the road slip about 2 kilometres Maclean side of the ferry where the road is reduced to one lane and traffic lights will be in operation. ... I have been advised to stay on the bitumen at all times and use extreme caution. In addition, we will be picking up and dropping off school children in the vicinity of the one lane section and I would ask drivers to be particularly aware if they see the school bus. Any school bus that has it's amber school lights or headlights flashing has a 40 kilometres per hour speed limit around it and that speed limit takes precedence over any higher limit.

13.01.2022 The ferry and Lawrence Rd on Woodford Island remain closed for Wednesday 31st and possibly into Thursday. Our school service from Lawrence to Maclean will therefore be travelling via Grafton.

12.01.2022 The ferry and Lawrence Rd to Maclean will be open very soon.

10.01.2022 Lawrence Ferry still out of action so the Maclean school service will be travelling via Grafton today. Normal pick up this morning as usual but Maclean bus will be 40 minutes late arriving back in Lawrence this afternoon. Looks like ferry could be out for a few days as river still rising above Grafton.

10.01.2022 Buses are heavy vehicles and can’t stop quickly. Wait until the bus has gone and find a safe place to cross the road. #BusSafetyWeek

04.01.2022 Just a reminder, school zones are back in operation tomorrow.

02.01.2022 I think by now you all would know the Bluff Pt Ferry at Lawrence is out of service due to flooding so a quick update regarding this afternoon's service home from Maclean to Lawrence. The Maclean school bus will be returning to Lawrence via Grafton so will arrive at the shop at 4.45 pm approx. It will be a little after that to Pringles Way and through Lawrence to Kings Creek Rd. Looks like more of the same for tomorrow too unfortunately. Will update later this evening.

02.01.2022 Due to road closure at McFarlane Bridge we will, unfortunately, have no school service to Woodford Island on Monday 29th March. We will provide updates for Tuesday on the ferry and the road re-opening.

01.01.2022 In case you missed it, wearing a when you can’t guarantee social distancing is now recommended. Let’s all do our part to keep each other safe #inthistogether

01.01.2022 Lawrence Rd is still closed at McFarlane bridge in Maclean and they are only letting residents through to Ilarwill and Golf Links Rd. I am unable to access Woodford Island to provide bus services until that changes. I am told that it may not reopen through to the ferry before Easter as a worst case scenario. Everyone should be prepared to drive around through Grafton to get to Maclean for a while yet.
