25.01.2022 How beautiful is this rain? Much needed here at Moruya. So far, over 68mm rain and still pouring. For those of you who have stayed with us, you will recognise the view into the bush, but probably not the flowing water! Our natural creek is over full. ( Please excuse the ding at the end...a message came thru)
24.01.2022 I know we can't have any visitors due to the corona virus, but try telling these visitors!
24.01.2022 We hope you have enjoyed your long weekend in NSW. Perfect weather on the coast. Lazy Days is very busy, with lots of bookings which is wonderful. The town is buzzing with people and life is feeling like it's returning to normal finally. Our guests this weekend discovered an extra visitor to our backyard. A busy echidna wandering through the bush but when he realised he was being watched, he buried himself quickly in the ground Thanks for sharing your video Steph.
23.01.2022 Have you planned your long weekend in October yet? NO?? Well don't delay! Lazy Days is still available for the Labour Day weekend. The weather is just gorgeous, that's why I spent some time at our nearby beach today. You, too, can enjoy some rest and relaxation, so call Ingrid to book your weekend on 0434998163, and get ready to have a fantastic break.
23.01.2022 Can you relate to this? We feel for our Victorian family and friends. But if you live in NSW and aren't from a hotspot, we are open and taking bookings for you to escape! This thing had better be over by Xmas - I won't be a happy mum if it isnt! #patience being tested.
22.01.2022 What fires?? What floods? Moruya Heads is back to beautiful. So good for the soul, to wander along the beach.
21.01.2022 HAPPY EASTER to everyone. I hope you are making the most of the lovely weather and finding different ways to spend Easter during this unusual event. We are enjoying the first "happy hour" by the firepit, now they have lifted fire restrictions Nothing like local prawns and oysters Stay well and don't eat too much chocolate!
19.01.2022 One of our lovely guests shared this experience with us. She did the Bingie Dreaming Walk and this incredible rainbow was with her most of the way. To add to that, this lovely lady had aboriginal heritage so what a special walk it was for her.
17.01.2022 Our cat knows not to go too close - and this little fella is oblivious. Happy hunting for food.
16.01.2022 WOOHOO! The gates are about to open! We can't wait to start hosting guests at Lazy Days Bed and Breakfast, Moruya Heads. The beach is beautiful for a walk and the weather is lovely - not too cold. So, start planning for your weekend getaway now, give me a call on 0434998163 to book directly and you can check out our website www.lazydaysbedandbreakfast.com.au
15.01.2022 Some days, if you just stop for a moment, you can immerse yourself in the sounds of nature. Today is one of those perfect "Lazy Days"..
14.01.2022 The sound, smell and sight of this welcome rain, and not just a sprinkle, is such a relief. An expected 80mm rain in next 24 hrs is such a extreme opposite to what we have seen for the past 2 months. But it will refresh the bush, giving it new life (which has already started!) as well as refreshing us humans
14.01.2022 Our fingers are crossed for some decent rainfall tomorrow (40-80mm predicted) and it started building today. There's something about storm clouds over a calm ocean but when you add a pod of dolphins herding fish close to shore, it makes my daily walk last a lot longer lol, but I'm not complaining
14.01.2022 Date night......fish and chips from Swans Takeaway, Moruya. Sitting on a deserted surf beach watching the sun set and the tide roll in. Gee, life's hard.
12.01.2022 One of our recent guests, Di, enjoyed being close up to one of our resident lorikeets. Cheeky little thing has a preference for sunflower seeds so just picks them out and leaves the rest
11.01.2022 We have got firefighting planes picking up water from Moruya river to help control the fire at Araluen road, 10kms west of Moruya. They are Firebird boss planes and they pick up nearly 3 tonne of water! How grateful we are to have them fighting these fires. (Apologies for the wind noise).
07.01.2022 Today at Broulee they finally got to hold the annual Sand modelling competition. It was cancelled due to the bushfires earlier this year. How heartwarming it was, to see so many families participating, getting down in the sand and having fun with their kids. A lot a great ideas and just pure simple fun. . Life is beginning to return to normal with these sort of events returning........it just shows the determination and resilience of our community.
05.01.2022 A day out, visiting our own local attractions so we can be more informed to assist our guests when they finally start to return! Deep Creek Dam is full to overflowing in the spillway and is a pretty sight. Then a visit to Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden. They have been working hard to recover from the devastation that the bushfires left behind so it's well worth a visit to support them. https://www.facebook.com/ERBGfriends/. The Garden Cafe is lovely, sitting out on the deck in the sunshine, eating beautiful food prepared on site. All are well worth a visit!
05.01.2022 Moruya and The Heads have managed to escape the bushfires unscathed and consider ourselves very fortunate. Just around the corner from Lazy Days Bed and Breakfast you will find The Stumpy family at Moruya- a set of old, ant ridden tree stumps that are decorated different times of the year. Today they appeared in RFS uniforms, thanking the emergency service workers for their help. And so do we! Their hard work prevented a lot of loss and heartache. But now we ask for people to help our coast to recover. Plan a visit and come and spend a bit of money with businesses that are struggling. We have many months ahead that will expose the full damage of these fires. Please share this with your friends - think of the South Coast NSW when you next need a holiday or a weekend away.
05.01.2022 These incredibly talented pilots are our angels in the sky. Today they have been working constantly to contain the fires around Moruya and Tuross Heads. They pick up 3000 tonne of water! It came close yesterday with horrible winds and high temperature but we were kept safe by the strike force of firefighters and army. We, thankfully, are on the other side of town and our bush setting is still in tact . But we are very grateful to these daredevil pilots who risk their lives t...o save others. On another note, we have availability for this long weekend due to a cancellation yesterday. If you have been thinking about coming here for a break, this weekend could be just the perfect time to do it. Fire danger is reduced, we had no smoke in the air today and the ocean is a beautiful temperature. Check www.lazydaysbedandbreakfast.com.au for more info or give me a call on 0434998163. Happy Australia Day everyone See more
04.01.2022 Sometimes we consider ourselves to be very lucky, to be chosen by guests who stay with us. We have met so many lovely people who have appreciated the effort we put in, in order for them to enjoy a 5 star experience. For the 1st time last week, we became a honeymoon destination! Lazy Days was chosen by newlyweds, Dallas and Bridget. Such a lovely couple, and it was a privilege to look after them . We were blown away by their kind words, so just had to share them with you.
03.01.2022 DOES YOUR DAD LOVE FISHING? Here's a perfect suggestion for your favourite Dad for Father's Day Let's face it, they get harder to buy for as we get older and they "don't need anything" lol. So give him a gift that he will enjoy. A weekend away at Moruya Heads where he can go and sit by the river, cast a line in and just sit back and relax, soaking up our glorious weather. And if the weather is ideal, our neighbour Grahame (AKA Captain Salty) could even take him out on his boat to fish the ocean. (He's on the left with a decent flathead, Geoff on the right with a mowong and pig fish). Then Dad can cook it on the BBQ for dinner! Can't beat that We have gift vouchers available so you can give him a gift to use when he is ready
02.01.2022 How extreme our ocean can be! I could spend hours just mesmerised by the waves dancing over the rocks. Today's swells are up to 5m and even the seals are enjoying it! It's a beautiful sight to watch at Toragy Point, Moruya Heads.
