25.01.2022 Hope everyone is keeping warm. I am enjoying spending time in the office catching up with my paperwork and doing some reading.
24.01.2022 Last Tuesday I had the privilege of leading funeral service for a 37 year old who had died suddenly. After the burial as family chatted his 4 year old daughter dressed in pink with her Celtic red hair beautifully braided asked to scattter tha last of the rose petals. She stood by the grave slowly releasing handfulls till they were all gone. Then she knelt by the graveside leaning over the low barrier looking down saying a few words to her Dad. Then she rose and quietly walked to her mum. I will remember this precious moment forever of a loving daughter saying her goodbyes to her Dad.
23.01.2022 Mother Day this year came with a mix of celebrations. Firstly On Friday I had the pleasure of joining Milli and Lexi at St Francis of the Fields, where we enjoyed breakfast then participated in a Mass service honouring all the mothers and grandmas. Then I delivered a Mothers Day Memorial service at Remembrance Park, Eaglehawk. I spoke on the theme of A mothers heart is a patchwork of love. Yesterday I was spoilt by my family with so much love.
23.01.2022 Friday evening at Buckley Falls in Fyansford was the most perfect setting for Jim and Fionas wedding. As they said their vows you could hear the river water rippling over the stones and birds tweeting in the trees. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
22.01.2022 Today I travelled to The Immigration Museum for a wedding, selected by the couple for the long history of immigration of both families. Thanks to Liz for driving me. It is a nice spot for a wedding but quite noisey. Lovely meaningful ceremony, great couple and pleasant weather made for an enjoyable day.
21.01.2022 Had a funeral today for a 92 year old gentleman. He had an amazing life from privilege to hardship in Europe as a consequence of the war then came to Australia. I just love learning about these amazing lives and understanding our heritage more. Love my job.
19.01.2022 What a magic place for a wedding!! Just home from Blue Lake Reserve in Ocean Grove where this gorgeous couple had their wedding. Their ring bearer, with his special coat, was perfectly behaved.

16.01.2022 Loving these cold days as the Perfect weather to be sitting by the fire writing my wedding ceremonies.
16.01.2022 Today I had a couple of firsts, said the words the union of two people and did the ceremony on crutches. Had a fall from my bike two weeks ago and broke my ankle so plaster to the knee. When I explained to this gorgeous couple what had happened they said that they were happy to adjust some things to accommodate me rather than hand over to another Celebrant. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Truffleducks and the newlyweds, David and Alexandra, all went smoothly.
15.01.2022 Just home from attending the Colac OPD session. Such a great group of Celebrants who all contributed to such an informative day. Yvonne did a good job in keeping us on track and made the sessions fun. Thanks to the Colac Bowls ladies for the delicious food, cant beat home cooking. Hope OPD will be in Colac again next year.
15.01.2022 It has been an interesting few days since Marriage Equality has been legalised. I have been busy updating all my forms and booklet I give my couples. Have had a couple of chats with interested couples but also it has brought about a general interest from everyone in the community. So happy that everyone now has the choice to be married and look forward to saying the new wording at my next wedding.
15.01.2022 Looking forward to the wedding today, weather is perfect for the lucky couple.
14.01.2022 Perfect Spring day for weddings today. I was at Sokil Arts Retreat in Wensleydale, an amazing bush setting although I did keep an eye out for snakes. Vows were exchanged under a natural tree arch. Congrats to Michael and Ali.
14.01.2022 What a great weekend. Wedding on Queenscliff ferry. Then Celebrant conference today. So much laughter and friendship.
13.01.2022 So glad my wedding was inside today as Winter arrived unannounced. The Vue Grand Hotel at Queescliff was the perfect place for Simon and Kristy to exchange their vows in front of family and friends. Their young daughter gave her blessing for their marriage as she is so proud of Simon becoming her Step Father. Such a beautiful family.
11.01.2022 Thank you to The Gordon for another excellent OPD Showcase. Enjoyed meeting fellow Celebrants and renewing friendships. Topics covered were varied and allowed me to come away with new ideas to enhance my practice. Thank you to all involved in presenting this Showcase each year.
11.01.2022 Congratulations to Daniel and Emma Brabham. The picturesque gardens of Barwon Edge Boathouse was a lovely setting for their wedding yesterday. Our bride made her grand entrance through a rustic doorway built by her father. The ceremony was held under an elegant arbour also custom built by the brides father. These personal touches added an intimacy and uniqueness to their day.
11.01.2022 Just enjoyed the ACMCV conference at Mulgrave Country Club. Great networking with fellow celebrants and great information to take home. Thanks to the committee and all the presenters, well done.
11.01.2022 What an amazing year I have had taking on being a Celebrant full time. I have had the privilege of meeting with so many lovely couples and travelled to many new and different settings. Also have had the honour of assisting many families during their grief for the loss of a loved one, to give them a dignified send off. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe 2015
10.01.2022 Completed my yearly OPD today in Geelong. Sally presented an excellent program. Thank you to fellow participants for their friendship and sharing.
09.01.2022 Have just finished a six day Funeral Celebrant course in Kallista. I have come away exhausted but have learnt so much & cant wait to put it into practice.
08.01.2022 Today I had a couple of firsts, said the words 'the union of two people' and did the ceremony on crutches.
08.01.2022 At launch of latest Local Wedding Guide for Geelong at the Geelong Yatch Club. Great night.
08.01.2022 Yesterday I had a wedding in Cressy beside the beautiful old bluestone church which is now the Historical society. You can imagine the surprise amongst the guests when the bride, Deb, and bridesmaid, Leanne, arrived on their bicycles. They looked so gorgeous.
08.01.2022 Recently met with a gorgeous young family to organise their daughters Naming Ceremony for later this year. I had the pleasure of officiating at the parents wedding on the family property in 2012. Also celebrated with them at their two sons Naming Days. So thrilled to be joining them again on the family property to celebrate with their circle of friends and family. I so love my work.
08.01.2022 This is so true.
07.01.2022 Just home from a special wedding at Modewarre. Bride arrived in her maternal grandfathers old work truck, a 1957 international. Groom had spent many hours getting it up and running for the day. So unique.
06.01.2022 One of the many special places that I get to perform weddings. Clyde Park is such a beautiful place and I will be there again on the 28th for a wedding.
05.01.2022 The magnificent Barwon Park Mansion in Winchelsea was the place chosen by Christian and Rhiannon to exchange their wedding vows last Saturday. The National Trust has The Dressmaker gowns on display and had to remove some to accommodate the wedding. The bridal party stood on the staircase for the ceremony then went into the side room to sign the certificates. Here the photographer noticed a display book opened with the headline how to snare a husband!!!! Congratulations to newlyweds.
01.01.2022 Last Saturday celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and was asked if I remember much about my wedding day. I certainly remember the exciting build up to our wedding day. Our church service as we had no choice, was the same as every other couple had then. It was lovely to recall these memories and have a laugh at how different it is today. How lucky are our couples now .as they can choose where they celebrate their wedding and prepare their ceremony to be meaningful and personal for them. I love that I am able to guide my couples through this process so they can reminisce in the years to come of their special day.
