25.01.2022 10 YEARS AGO TO THE DAY... 11th January 2011 we awoke to a lockdown of a different kind. The rains delivered their own isolation and again panic at Woolies and Coles #dejavu The relentless rain hit Toowoomba first and then hit Brisbane hard and fast, especially the Western Suburbs - to the top of roofs and the smell is something I will never..ever...forget. The dirty muddy water stained everything in its path and visible water lines remain today.... The speed of the water rising left many in my beautiful suburb in shock and with little time to prepare, supplies were delivered by chopper as the army set up its base in the local school oval. We were fortunate to have escaped the water line, unfortunately friends were not and so the cleanup mission began. It was all hands on deck (thank you #mudarmy). Also check out those warped doors . A number of these pics have been published in a some books documenting the floods of the Western Suburbs. 19.01.2022 Photographing at home is easily one of my favourite ways to document a family milestone. Lots of creative ways available with a natural, lifestyle feel to tell the chapters of your family story. Ultimately, this is your safe zone and if you are feeling a little nervous about being photographed, being on your own turf makes the world of difference. I generally shoot in the main bedroom and lounge room (wherever the best light is) and we can do a quick tidy up on the day... there is no expectation for your home to be magazine worthy and I even bring some styling pieces with me should we require them. Lifestyle at home sessions is all about telling your story and the home you share together.
