16.01.2022 COVID-19 impacts - Landlord Relief Assistance Are you a landlord who has provided a tenant with rent relief due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic? Landlords who provided tenants impacted by the coronavirus pandemic with rent relief between 29 March 2020 and 31 December 2020 may be eligible for a reduction of up to 50% on the property’s 2020 land tax. Additionally, those unable to secure a tenant because of the pandemic, and owner-occupiers of commercial properties, ma...y be eligible for a 25% reduction on the property’s 2020 land tax. The closing date for 2020 land tax relief applications is 31 March 2021. 2021 land tax relief is also available for eligible landlords. Please reach out to your accountant if you need assistance in applying.
