23.01.2022 10th Dec 2020 Jobs Boost As Regional Travel Voucher Scheme Launches The first of 120,000 travel vouchers will be available from tomorrow helping families get out to regional Victoria for the summer and kickstarting the tourism recovery in all corners of regional Victoria. The vouchers will provide added incentive for Victorians to explore their beautiful back yard and support regional communities hard hit by bushfires, pandemic and other challenges this year. The vouchers... will be rollout out in tranches, with 40,000 vouchers valued at $200 each redeemable for travel between Saturday, 12 December and Friday, 22 January providing a major boost for the operators of accommodation and tourism businesses across the state in the peak summer holiday period. The vouchers will be available from 10:00am tomorrow, with successful applicants able to redeem their voucher after they have travelled, ensuring cash flows immediately to regional businesses. Additional lots of 40,000 vouchers will become available on 20 January for travel between 27 January and 1 April and on 30 March for travel between 6 April and 31 May spreading the benefits for regional communities well into the year. Any vouchers not used in the first two rounds will be added to the third round. The $28 million Regional Travel Voucher Scheme is part of the multi-pronged $465 million Victorian Tourism Recovery Package, which also provides almost $300 million to improve infrastructure in iconic locations including Gippsland, the Great Ocean Road, Wilsons Promontory and the Grampians and invest in new tourism projects. The voucher scheme is open to Victorian residents aged 18 or over when they spend a minimum $400 on accommodation, experiences or tours in regional Victoria in specified periods. Vouchers will be limited to one per household and travellers will be required to spend at least two nights in paid accommodation in regional Victoria to qualify for the scheme. Victorians will register through the Business Victoria website and if successful, be provided with a link to redeem the voucher after their travel is completed. Vouchers will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. To apply for the voucher scheme, visit business.vic.gov.au/travelvouchers from 10:00am, Friday 11 December. 14.01.2022 Small businesses in Latrobe City are fighting back with the help of Councils new grants program designed to support those who have been hit hard during COVID-1...9. The Latrobe City Small Business Grants Programs provides small businesses, in those areas most affected, with funds to help with employment creation and/or retention, new investment and benefits to the community. The grants of up to $5000 may help towards the development of a website, print or digital marketing campaigns, new equipment or infrastructure to physical premises, training and skills improvement for staff. The grants program will operate over three rounds. The first round is running from 3 August to 30 August, the second from 14 September to 11 October and the third from 26 October to 22 November. Latrobe City Council are encouraging any small business that might qualify to think about how one of these grants might support their businesses to get through this challenging time. 11.01.2022 Commercial tenancy relief scheme The Victorian Government has announced a commercial tenancy relief scheme to alleviate financial hardship faced by tenants and landlords as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). For commercial tenants and landlords, the scheme will provide the following support: a six-month moratorium on commercial tenancy evictions for the non-payment of rent for small to medium enterprises with an annual turnover under $50 million that have experienced a ...minimum 30 per cent reduction in turnover due to coronavirus (COVID-19), commencing from 29 March 2020 a freeze on rent increases during the moratorium for commercial tenants a rental payment waiver or deferral proportionate to commercial tenants income reduction due to coronavirus (COVID-19), to be negotiated between the tenant and landlord a mediation service for commercial tenants and landlords to support fair tenancy negotiations. A permanent full-time, part-time, or long-term casual (at least 12 Months) employee at 1 March 2020 Aged 16 years or older at 1 March 2020 - there are new eligibility requirements for employees that are 16 and 17 years old An Australian resident Not a recipient of government parental leave or a payment in accordance with Australian worker compensation law for an individuals total incapacity to work. You can identify your eligible employees via your payroll software, which will update the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) through your Single Touch Payroll enabled solution. Your registered tax professional can also let the ATO know on your behalf. You will need to re-confirm your employees details with the ATO each month to keep receiving the payment. 07.01.2022 Well this morning I had the opportunity to visit Yinnar and attend the launch of a new RV stopover. The new site can cater for up to eight RV's and I'm sure it... will provide some stimulus to the local economy and community. At this stage the RV stop which is located right in the centre of town does not have water or a dump point but hopefully these additional features will be installed at a future time. Congratulations to the Yinnar & District Community Association and particularly Kevin Young for his vision and persistence in bring the RV stop to town. See more
