25.01.2022 Fantastic effort by the boys in their 1st final. Probably our best all round game for the year against a very good opposition. Thanks to everyone for all your support throughout the season. Please dont forget presentation day Friday the 18th of March.

19.01.2022 Sun was out to finally play our 1st 2 dayer!

19.01.2022 Hi everyone we are still waiting for 100% confirmation of the final positions . That being said, I just thought I would write a few words on how very happy Adam and I are, of the finish to the home and away games . Firstly we played with only 10 kids against the Griffins on Wednesday night, we had a plan to bat and look to run at every opportunity. The Griffins bowled really well early and fielded even better, however we spent time at the crease building partnerships, with Fl...etcher retiring once again having only being dismissed once for the year which is and outstanding effort, he was followed by Harry and Daniel in retiring. We were really impressed with the fact that the kids did the team things well, we had told the lower order that they could take more risks to get the score moving along and a couple sacrificed their wickets for the team in particular Cameron who had also been suffering some leg pain but stuck it out for his team. We spoke about getting 100 on the board but finished just short on 97. When we fielded we started unbelievably well with wickets to Lennon and Fletcher in their first 2 overs each. It was great to see Lennon bounce back after a dodgy dismissal when batting and I know he was quite upset but managed to put that aside and led brilliantly with Fletch. All bowlers did a great job and I think the hard work is paying off, it is great to see how consistent Connors and Matthews spin bowling have become , they seem to be landing nearly every ball in the right area . We ended up having them on 9/83 which was a great win. Harry kept well in his 1st game while Damon bowled a couple of tidy overs. On Friday night we needed to beat Upwey to have a chance of making finals. Once again we batted first and as the kids were told to they took every single available, this was most definitely our best running game. Fletcher retired first again followed by Lachlan O, unfortunately I don't have the book in hand but I can say that apart from Harry who once again did the team thing to try and get the score going, every batsman got a start. Special mentions to Lennon who was outstanding with 4 or 5 boundaries backed up with hard running and ended up with over 20 runs, also Luke who I give a hard time to, batted superbly for 11 from 17 balls. When we bowled we once again kept it tight and well supported in the field by all the boys. Upwey had their best score of the year being 93 we were 117 but all bowlers did a great job again . As we had to win and the Griffins lost to Eildon Park that should see us play on Thursday & Friday night at Eildon park. Please be at training on Monday and I will confirm all details then . Thanks to George for all his support and work done to make it easy for our boys to just turn up and play, thanks to Adam for all the umpiring he does and support with the boys. And finally thanks to everyone for turning up each week and supporting the boys. See more
