25.01.2022 Let's talk FONTS! Fonts are everywhere we look. In the books we read, on the websites we visit, in everyday lifeon street signs, bumper stickers, and product packaging. I find myself trying to remember the name of fonts when I see them, it drives me wild because my memory is so terrible and the name is always on the tip of my tongue Every designer - or every person for that matter - gravitates towards certain font styles. Some like bold, modern sans serif fonts and some... like the classic, timeless serifs. Then there's the cursive, the handwritten, the calligraphy, the fancy - so many fonts are out there But as you can see from this picture - it definitely matters which font you use when you're putting a design together. A font can relay the whole feel of the design you are trying to create! If you need help with some designs - no matter how big or small, hit me up! I'm always looking to expand my portfolio [email protected] 0403 133 496

24.01.2022 This has got to be one of my all time favourite infographics. We've all heard it before. Time = Money.... Cheap things are just that, cheap. You sacrifice quality and time. Expensive things are pricey because they take time, effort and are generally (well, should be) high quality. Design is no different. I’m sure you heard it all before. Whatever the industry, you can have it good, fast, or cheap. But you can only pick two. This is especially true in the world of graphic design, and here’s why. Option 1) Great + Fast = Expensive Translation: You can have it good and fast, but it’s going to cost you. Basically if you're asking someone to give up everything else and focus entirely on your project in order to get it done fast - then you have to be prepared to pay. Imagine you are installing a new kitchen. Quoted time is for 1 week. You want it finished in 2 days. If you have the Trades working day and night solely to have your kitchen done in that time frame - then you expect to pay extra right? It's no different for a Designer. Option 2: Cheap + Fast = Fugly Translation: You can have it cheap and fast, but it will look like crap. Simples. If you don't want to pay for the extra quality - well you won't get it. Think about it. For someone to work that cheaply and that fast, they must be churning out whatever it is like an assembly line. Things are going to fall through the cracks. Mistakes will be made. Expect typos. Expect generic clipart. Option 3: Cheap + Great = Slow Translation: You can have it cheap and good, but it will take a while. A great option for those with a budget, and time on their hands. The designer has time to really think on ideas - time to get their creativity flowing. Mistakes can be caught before they happen. And the designer can work on the project whenever they have time - or probably most importantly - when they feel like it. Creativity can't be forced. There's nothing worse than forcing a design to a deadline if you just aren't feeling it. So it's all about Give and Take. Anyone who says you can have it all is lying. Something has to give. Definitely worth remembering in all aspects of Goods and Services.

21.01.2022 I’m always rushing to update my portfolio when I’m applying for a job I really need to update the design page

15.01.2022 Today is "EAT ICECREAM FOR BREAKFAST DAY". I repeat, eat icecream for Breakfast Day! And let's face it, with all the weird stuff going on right now, what better way to start this week than with something as joyful as icecream! ... Personally I can't eat much dairy, so vegan icecream for me (I know I know, but don't knock it until you try it). How do you eat your icecream? In a cone? Do you melt it into a thickshake in a bowl? (i used to do that all the time as a kid). Sundaes? Sprinkles? Nuts? The options are endless! Maybe for breakfast something a little healthier? Have you tried banana Nice Cream yet? Seriously, if you haven't, get on it. Make yourself some panckes (I mean, there's no rush to get to school or work today, so why not treat yo'self right?) and pop this on top. Bellissimo! https://www.notenoughcinnamon.com/strawberry-banana-ice-cr/
