25.01.2022 At the Council meeting of 26th of June, I was disappointed in Councillors decision to shut down the ring road that has taken many years of planning to almost being implemented. The ring road would have greatly reduced the traffic flow problems within Liverpool. The temporary parking area between Terminus and Macquarie St opposite Bathurst Street will now be turned in a multistorey car park instead of providing a link from terminus into Bathurst St. The original reason for C...ouncil purchasing that block of land. IMHO that is a negative outcome and will put Liverpool back decades in planning. The original plan was to close the dogleg from Terminus into Pirie into Macquarie then into Bathurst to allow traffic to get to the bypass around Liverpool. I suggested that due to the enormous increases in both residential and business development in the southern part of the CBD an up to date traffic study needed to be carried out before settling on a spur of the moment reaction. Granted Parking is major problem, Council needs to get it right, placing a multistorey car park in that area is not a good outcome and will have major consequences in the foreseeable future. No studies have been done to validate that proposal, it was simply a spur of the moment decision that sadly had little thought put into it. Let alone the fact that there will be around 500 spaces in the new Civic Centre within 100m of this proposal. :-( See more

20.01.2022 Attended Samoan Independence day celebrations on behalf of Liverpool City Council. Also attending was Cllr Dai Le from Fairfield City Council, also an Independent, great taste in colour and pleasant company.

19.01.2022 Councillor Peter Harle is also a registered Justice of the Peace that residents can contact via phone Mb: 0412 736 956 or email; [email protected] for an appointment to witness documents etc.

19.01.2022 The result of Cllr Peter Harle's Notice of Motion to address the increasing problems caused by abandoned and dumped shopping trolleys.

19.01.2022 Maybe Liverpool Council should be considering this as well, since it appears little has changed over the past few months when Council considered fining the retailers for abandoned shopping trolleys?

17.01.2022 That will certainly improve our parks and gateways into Liverpool. Presentation plays a enormous role in our City. Great work Liverpool City Council.

16.01.2022 A long time coming but it's a start in reducing the enormous amount of combustible waste, normally sent landfill, is being diverted to provide useful energy for thousands of homes.

15.01.2022 Have your say on the future of Liverpool!

12.01.2022 Middleton Grange; the Rescission Motion. I have received many emails and phone calls regarding the Middleton Town Centre Rescission Motion. To clarify my decision; I co-signed the Rescission Motion of the 31st July 2019 Council Meeting on the basis that no progress had been made since the 12th December 2018 Council Meeting. Since that time, I have received many emails from Middleton Grange residents in support of the Town Centre Planning proposal....Continue reading

09.01.2022 The state election has come and gone with little change. In Liverpool Labors’ margin was reduced by around 5% but it remains at more than 20% over the nearest rival, otherwise it made little difference to the more than 100 years of Labor dominance. It means Liverpool won’t get any additional support from the State Government be it Liberal or Labor irrespective of its enormous infrastructure backlog. That will never change unless voters realise to get money spent here they nee...d to reduce Labors’ margin significantly. Why would any Government spend money in an area that will always vote for the same political party? That’s why Liverpool has been ignored for decades. The Hospital upgrade was the only major recent funding allocation and that was by the opposition! Fact is it’s dangerous to have a large margin. It means the major parties are likely to use it to dump infrastructure that nobody else wants, Intermodals, Logistic Centres (Warehousing), Concrete and Asphalt recovery and waste recycling centres, clay mining, major transport hubs and depending on your point of view, a 24-hour airport. Look at our neighbouring seat of Holsworthy, it’s marginal and changes from Labor to Liberal depending on promises made and money spent. Examples are Heathcote Road, bridges, roundabouts and significant amounts for commuter carparking at Holsworthy, Edmondson park, Leppington and Liverpool railway stations as well as efforts to reduce housing densities, let alone the Camden Valley road widening and the actual railway line to Edmondson Park.

04.01.2022 Beersheba Commemoration was held this morning at 11am at the Lighthorse Park in Liverpool. Ken Young OAM compered the day and as usual did a fabulous job. Craig Kelly MP as always a speaker along with Alex Glumac representing Chris Hayes MP. Councillor Peter Harle representing the Mayor. Colin Harrington representing Liverpool RSL sub branch. Plus Councillor Karress Rhodes and June Young OAM. The day was organised by Ellen Russell and all went well. Thank you to the wonderful band, the girl with the pipes. They all looked fabulous and I felt deeply moved watching them. We were only allowed 30 people so numbers were down but the weather was on our side. Janice Harle was the photographer.
