25.01.2022 On the last two days of Quarry Hills Tournament the sun came out and the Doubles event got under way , With three games to go to day there was still not a definite winner . Brian Rowe and Jan Lebek were undefeated till the last game when they met Quarry Hill pair of Lois Breadon and John Murdoch who took the game on the last hoop . But lost first place by 4 hoops . Congratulations Brian and Jan second time winners ,and well done to Lois and John who had never played in an... handicap event before but quickly picked up how to use those spares. Thankyou all who travelled from afar to play at our club . 25.01.2022 Quarry Hill held their singles handicap event today ,Winner of Section 1 and first time visitor to Quarry Hill was John James from Denilquin , with 7 wins and runner up Christine Eiffert ,Q,Hill with 6 wins ,Section 2 winner was Anne Dodd from Rich River with 7 wins and Helen Brierley 6 wins ,Tomorrow is the start of the Doubles Handicap event .

24.01.2022 After the second lockdown ,our eight members were keen to resume our coaching of Association Croquet we started with a couple of weeks revising and then they played a round robin competition . Timed games on small courts over six hoops were keenly contested with most players getting pegouts . Winner of competition was John Murdoch and runner up was his wife Irene Murdoch ,can see these two having great contests in the future . At the end of competition our players enjoyed l...unch at the local . It was a pleasure to coach an enthusiastic mix of people and even better is that they are keen to continue . 21.01.2022 Today was Quarry Hill Croquet Clubs official opening of the season , Life Member Megs Campbell ran the first hoop and then Club Members enjoyed an array of cakes for morning tea .After lunch members went to Spring Gully Primary for the start of an 8 week coaching session for the year 5 students , last week we took the girls this week was the boys turn lots of enthusiasm and keen to progress further ,the photo is of the year 1 children having fun with the equipment before the bell went . 20.01.2022 After 4 weeks of coaching ,it was time for them to take their skills to the Quarry Hill Croquet Club for the class challenge ,16 children in teams of 4 played 3 games in pairs , the winning team scored 60 hoops and were very excited to win the class trophy ,all the participants recieved a badge and were then treated to fresh fruit thanks to Helen Goulay.It was great to see the children enthusiastic about croquet. Bill and Helen have done a fantastic job of coordinating this, but nothing can be done without the help of all our volunteers. Im sure we will be seeing more of these children on our courts in the future. Thank you to all who helped.

17.01.2022 Quarry Hill members all happy to be back playing , and catching up for a chat with friends . Weather has been nice enough to sit outside and enjoy a thermas of tea or coffee ,all abiding the distance rule. Hopefully won't be long and we can enjoy the warmth of the clubhouse.

14.01.2022 Quarry Hill members traveled to Shepparton in the first of many Challenges between the two clubs.The games were played in great spirit and was very closely contested . The victors and winners were Quarry Hill by just 2 hoops. Congratulations to all the players from both clubs thoughly enjoyable day was had by all Look forward to the rematch .

12.01.2022 Bill and Chris have been kept busy this winter ,it has been the perfect time to coach 8 of our members in Association Croquet ,6 weeks in and they are all keen to keep learning.

05.01.2022 Congratulations Lois Kirk Winner Division I At Ballarat Tournament . Play well at Essenden this weekend and then on to Queensland for the Eire Cup .

05.01.2022 Congratulations Lois Kirk winner of Selectors Invitation at the weekend. Four Members of Quarry Hill attended , Roger Bird, Bill Humphreys, Christine Eiffert. As usual weather was wet and cold Saturday but Sunday was a much better.
