20.01.2022 Wellness Habit #3. Take time off Yes you read that right! Sometimes you need to take a 5-minute break or even go one step further and take a personal day - make sure to spend some time relaxing your brain and body. This way when you come back, you are rejuvenated and ready to teach.

19.01.2022 Testimonial Thank you, Jessica, for your insightful and fun workshop, Creating More Time and Energy. It has given me the tools to start working smarter, not harder, to create the time and energy to have a better work/life balance. I gained and adopted many of your new and invaluable strategies, and since putting them into place I have felt empowered, calmer and happier, both at home and at work. I highly recommend your workshop to anyone who wants to move towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.

18.01.2022 Productivity Tips for Teacher Wellbeing #1. Be ok with using different systems. Over the years I have tried many different systems, planners, and books in the hope that I would find the ‘one’. I would spend money on lots of stationery, often feeling guilty afterwards, especially if I only used it for a short time. ... But I have finally decided to accept that I like to use a variety of strategies depending on how I am feeling, how full my itinerary is, and what will best organise me at that point in time. It is ok to have different systems, because not every week or day is the same. I have all my planners and stationery filed away (digitally and hardcopy) so I can select what is going to work best for me when I sit down to plan my week. You can purchase my organisational stationery from www.jessicaterlick.com.au or follow the link in my bio.

17.01.2022 Benefits of teacher wellbeing habits #4 Lead by example How can you truly promote wellbeing to your students if you are not practising what you preach? You could just speak the words and tell them what they ‘should’ be doing or you can actually lead by example!

14.01.2022 Benefits of teacher wellbeing habits #2 Builds up our resilience and allows us to thrive as teachers Teaching is stressful. We are managing parents’ expectations, reporting duties, student personalities building up our resilience as professionals can only be good for our students and peers, right? Being at our best allows us to really go beyond just delivering a lesson, to actually performing as a teacher who is likely to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.

13.01.2022 In the Lead and Inspire Community, I often speak about the importance of having a weekly planning session for your week ahead. Select a day and time where you plan for the following week (even when we're not at school). By having this system you will not only feel in control and calm but you will also be able to schedule in the small changes you need to make, to work towards your first step. I like to start my weekly planning session with meal preparation and planning (I als...o get dinner started and lunches made for the next day), then I sit down to plan out my week using my Weekly Check In Planner, available for purchase from my website www.jessicaterlick.com.au Once I have finished then I go for a walk with my family; I know I have everything sorted and I can now enjoy time with my loved ones, because after all, I’m also creating this life for them as well. 11.01.2022 Benefits of teacher wellbeing habits #3 Allow us to be more assertive All your efforts to look after your mental health will put you in a stronger position to assert yourself in the classroom. Plus, looking after yourself means that you are much more able to see the bigger picture with most situations and ‘connect the dots’ as you will be feeling confident and making decisions rationally.

10.01.2022 Testimonial Just a big thank you, Jessica, for what you are doing to help teachers in particular. It's inspiring and energising. I have forwarded your website to all the staff at my school. I have no doubt you'll be a massive influence on a very large group of teachers soon and I feel privileged to have been there from the beginning.

10.01.2022 Wellness Habit #1. Set healthy boundaries for yourself and stick to them It’s not selfish to decide that weekends are for you and your family, or that you’re not going to work after 8pm on weekdays. You are perfectly within your rights to not feel you have to be involved in everything with your school or your students. Caring is good, worrying is not.

06.01.2022 Today I said goodbye to my to-do-list. It had started to consume me. Before I threw it out, I did double-check if I needed to keep anything of high-importance. Then I enjoyed running the sheets of my list through the shredder. I felt calm, in control and like I had the capacity to be more productive. This is not the first time that I have totally ‘scrapped’ my to-do-list. Throwing it out is one of my strategies to keep highly organised. ... Over the next couple of weeks, I will be sharing my 5 Productivity Tips for Teacher Wellbeing See more

05.01.2022 Wellness Habit #2. Sleep well and exercise right This one follows on nicely from the first point I shared last week. Resist the urge to work too late, and make sure you are getting enough sleep. For those of you that love exercise, make sure you schedule time each day or week for what you enjoy doing. Even if you don’t enjoy exercise, short walks with the dog, or a stroll around the block can be enough to keep your mind and body healthy. Think of exercise as a great outlet for you to release energy or frustration from the school day.

05.01.2022 Testimonial I highly recommend attending one of Jessica's workshops. Already booked in for the next one!! Have you?
