25.01.2022 This is the perfect picture to describe how MR Smith sees himself!! It took us a few minutes to get to his own view of himself, as I think he was a bit confused- confinement is having that affect on all of us buddy. So when I asked him for one word to describe himself he said TERROR- as in, I can be a little terror. He is hating confinement and some days feels like he could burst, it felt like an abundance of pent of energy like he wanted to scream lol.... He is loving the entertainment factor his little sister has added to his life, and he thinks she is pretty cool, but he feels trapped some days, he showed me himself doing his crazy zoomies and saying I want freedom. So when I explained that the word needs to be his word to describe himself he said WHIRLWIND lol- and I hv to say he gets out into open spaces (that he loves) and he definitely is a whirlwind- I get it Smith Like all the other dogs, he misses his mates and the freedom to run and be chased and zoom to his hearts content. He is loving being with his family, but he thinks they are all feeling stir crazy and they all need to get out and do the zoomies!! 24.01.2022 It's such an honor to be there when animals are ready to pass over, to let them know that their owners are ok. Most animals aren't scared at all, their hesitancy is all around leaving their owners in pain- they are such selfless beings up until the very last second. Having been through the process 3 times myself (RIP Zen, Buddy and Midnight) I know how traumatic it is for the owner, not knowing if it is the right time, or how to make it easier for their pet, so being able to... reassure and guide both human and animal is an absolute privilege. I am so grateful when owners trust me with their pet, especially at such a vulnerable time. To be there at the end, to observe that outpouring of love, and then to witness that heart opening vulnerably again to the love of a new pet, and to see that beautiful new soul breath out and know that they are home, and very much loved, is pure magic. 24.01.2022 I love this little monkey- she knew I was going to be speaking to her today and even before I asked for her permission (i always ask them first) she was yelling YES YES YES and telling me her word- which very quickly changed, because she is far too honest lol. LILY #16 is CAUTIOUS Lily initially told me her word was COURAGEOUS- i said, really, ok- tell me how you are courageous, its your word!! Then she was very coy and said ok, ok I am CAUTIOUS. And there is absolutely nothi...ng wrong with that Lily!! She reminded me of the day she was attacked by a greyhound (i remember it well ) that day changed her and ever since she has been far more cautious, and i told her that was a good thing, not a bad one. Lily is one hell of a character, we had our own little tiffs in the beginning, but her testing me has done nothing but cement my love and respect for this wonderful girl. You earn her attention and that makes it,and her constant vocals all the more sweet to my ears. 22.01.2022 My beautiful rescue boy Buddy. He was in shocking condition when I got him, and was much sicker than we all realised. He was on death row at a high kill pound in NSW, but with the help of my wonderful friend @jainparsons we got him out and down to me in Melbourne. After numerous vet visits and surgeries, we discovered he was only about 4yrs old, but he hadnt had a good 4yrs which was evident by his condition, but certainly not by his personality. This little man knew he was ...in for a better life and he embraced every second he had. He melted every heart that crossed his path, none more than mine. We only had a very short 18months together before he passed away, but he knew nothing but love love love for the entire time he was with me. Buddy changed my life in so many ways, he was the main reason I quit my corporate career and started Lead Astray. Thank you Buddy, I miss you every day, but I know you are always with me. See more

22.01.2022 Home at last! That was a long 36hrs!! I hate not having him at home, especially when it is for these sorts of reasons. Lenny went in to have a suspicious growth removed from his abdomen, and while he was under anaesthetic they xrayed his spine, legs etc as he has been struggling over the past few months. Turns out he needed both of his cruciate ligaments done, so one surgery became 2. We get the biopsy results next week for the growth, and when his leg recovers in 6-8 weeks... he will have the other leg done. 16.01.2022 This big beautiful soul was very very eager to chat with me today- he made me promise it wont be the last time!! ARNOTT #13 So, this picture depicts how ARNOTT currently feels. At first when I asked him to describe himself in one word, he said content, and then he said- no, I am happy, but as we dug a little deeper he admitted that right now his word is CONFUSED.... ARNOTT is a very sensitive soul, he is very much in tune with his surroundings, and right now he feels peoples anxieties and unease. He said it all just feels odd. He is not scared, but he feels the disconnect around him and finds it confusing. The masks are strange and the mood is off. People need people, like dogs need dogs, and right now our state of disconnect due to social distancing, has ARNOTT a bit confused. Dogs work very much on the frequencies around them, and he feels the uncertainty those around him feel when he is out with his owners. CLARRIE #14 What one word describes you best Clarrie? - to which he eagerly replied CONFIDENT!! Not exactly how I would have described him lol.... He explained by saying, he may also be clumsy, and not think before he does things, but he has the confidence to just do them!! I have to give him that. Our individual meaning for the word confident might differ, I think certain things he does arent as confident as what it thinks they are- but hey, its his interpretation of himself, not mine. Clarrie is the first to investigate situations, but he thinks running towards children barking is confident, hmmmm. He does jump head first into things without thinking - like The Yarra!! A day none of us wish to relive - I think we agree on clumsy confident. Clarrie is comparing himself to his younger brother, who is a bit less adventurous than he is, so I can see why that would make him see himself as confident. 13.01.2022 This is the face of a stubborn dog!! He is meant to be resting- i swear the drugs to knock him out have made him hallucinate that he is a gazelle. Yesterday when i went to walk Boss, he was asleep, so i put up a barricade and left him to sleep. I opened the front door when i got back, and out he ran!! Jumped the barricade onto and off my bed and ran to my van wanting to get in! Managed to get him back inside and put up this gate between my bed to split the room and stop him d...oing it again. 08.01.2022 My boy is so loved. I have felt it so much over the past 24hrs. So many people txting and calling wanting to know how he is doing and if we have his biopsy results yet. To save me many more tears in endless phone calls to all you wonderful people I thought i would let you all know. We got the results yesterday and it is cancer, and I am gutted. After so many tears and phone calls yesterday, i have put my positive pants on today- and we are going to tackle this fucker just as... I did my own cancer (which is surprisingly the same cancer- sarcoma)- with diet, laughter, good vibes, fun times and as much positivity as we can throw at it. Right now he is recovering from the cruciate surgery and the removal of the growth, and in 6wks when we get his leg xrayed we will do a CT to determine if the growth was the primary (fingers crossed) or the secondary. We are feeling all the love and are so very grateful to everyone- we got this!!
