25.01.2022 What needs to happen in organisations when trust is broken and yet so many major changes need to be embedded... this is my focus for the coming month and I will share more on the steps we will take to restore trust please share if you have thoughts about restoring broken trust in your business below #changeleadership #restoretrust

24.01.2022 Yesterday I took a bunch of my friends jetboating for a big milestone birthday... don’t ask please In the lead up to planning these celebrations... there were a few friends who tried to talk me out of the jetboating part of the celebrations... Some of the objections were:... Everyone will get wet (prior to drinks) People want to dress up for the party and you can’t go jetboating in high heels and a dress Its winter in Sydney, it will be cold on the water So fair to say not everyone jumped onboard (literally) with it, but those who didn’t, joined us after. It ended up being a great success and not cold at all , nobody worried about dressing up, yes some got wet, but it stopped nobody from drinking afterwards. I realised two things from this that are so relevant for how we manage change in the workplace: People make assumptions People resist something they don’t know a lot about (in this case hadn’t done it before) It ended up being a very memorable day and I managed the above as follows: Gave lots of notice (planned this almost 2 months in advance) Shared lots of relevant information at the right time Gave full transparency of the potential risks Have a great week ahead battling those assumptions #changemanagement #changeleadership #assumptions

18.01.2022 ... and with that knowledge creating an environment of TRUST, TRANSPARENCY and TEAMWORK more on the physical implications of badly managed change which ends up crushing productivity and your bottom line soon!

18.01.2022 Enabling change in organisations requires people to get behind a greater WHY... traveling home on the plane tonight I thought this box of yummy snacks was such a great example of a concise and clear statement people can get behind...particularly because it’s so much bigger than one person and even bigger than the organisation itself. It serves a much greater purpose. Take the time to create a clear WHY for your change journey and it will be so much easier for people to get behind it and support the change. #emubottombiscuits #startwithwhy ##changestartsatthetop #leaderofchange #purpose #purposeledchange #purposedriven #changemanagement

18.01.2022 Coming back from a night in the city we can simply not pass up the opportunity to indulge in some seriously good gelatoMany times I’ve heard women question how you can indulge in wonderful and rich food and still have a waistline... it’s all about balance. For a number of years now I balance my diet by being good during the weekdays (until Friday 4pm) and I indulge on the weekends it works really well for me, it’s wonderful to celebrate with loved ones after a week of work and commitments #womenwhoinvestinthemselvesgofurther #balanceiseverything

17.01.2022 This was me on Thursday night after a long few days in Melbourne... . . . The thing that kept coming up was people suffer from change fatigue.... . . . How do we deal with change fatigue? . . . Firstly just like change resistance, its a symptom not the cause. . . . The cause is related to HOW changes are being introduced... . . . not the amount of change that’s happening in your organization, because . . . People are way more resilient than you think, and... . . . Everyone wants change to make things BETTER! . . . But they NEED to feel empowered to change... and that’s tricky . . . #changeleadership #change #changeisgood #empowerment #empoweryourstaff #changemanagement See more

16.01.2022 Last week I attended Brene Brown’s conference in Sydney... if you’re a leader and you don’t understand why some of your staff respond better to your leadership style than others... check out Brene Brown’s dare to lead checklist here: https://daretolead.brenebrown.com//DaringFeedback-EngagedF As much as you have values in your organisaties with related behaviours defined, your staff Will come to work with their own personal values and your leadership is most effective if you understand your staff’s individual values. . . . #daretolead #leadership #transformationalleadership #change #changeleadership #peoplefirst #values #valuebasedleadership

15.01.2022 Do you agree? After many years working on large technology driven transformations... I believe this to be true and also to be the number one reason for many of them failing... please let me know your thoughts below

13.01.2022 I just love this... its the Home page of Simon Sinek’s website- IMAGINE??!! Start With Why caused a huge shift in my thinking about how I approach complex change in the workplace and I realized quickly that young and old, we are ALL driven by a purpose ... we simply don’t act with conviction or at all if we don’t have a clear why to work towards. Do you know your why? Share below

11.01.2022 A number of years ago I started Leader of Change and this was one of my brand vision boards created with my brand adviser @julia__kuris... No matter where you are in your business or in the organisation you work for... we all are leaders in our own right and contribute to better lead change. Do you agree with these values? #changeleadership #changemanagement

09.01.2022 Travelling to Melbourne from Sydney regularly at the moment, so I get time to reflect... * * * Being a leader in today’s world requires more courage than its ever required before...... * * * Yes, leaders have to have a certain level of intelligence and thats probably always been the case, but * * * We now need more human connection than ever before and that’s super scary for (most) people! * * * So if you’re a leader in today’s business world, and you have leverage to influence... what drives you to be and stay in that position or even pursue a promotion? * * * The reason for my question is this: * * * Most leaders don’t seem to be driven by doing the right thing by their people, their staff. Yet today’s leaders are meant to be serving their staff to get the most out of them, empower them... etc. (Refer to Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek) * * * So why do you want to be a leader when really what you actually want out of your career has little to do with leading people? * * * (Ps It’s of course totally fine to want something different from life and your career, but maybe consider choosing a different avenue?) #leadership #inspire #empoweryourstaff #empowerment #transformation #challengeyourself #leaderofchange See more

03.01.2022 We have to choose to think and than DO differently to overcome some of our current challenges. . . . Stop what you’ve always done...listen to what others (more successful) are doing ... and recalibrate... take action to do something differently... so you can make change for the better! #thinkdifferently #change #stopdoingthesamethingsexpectingdifferentresults #stopdoingthesamething #selfreflection #learn #growthmindset #continuousimprovement #leaderofchange
