23.01.2022 Now more than ever it's important for kids to learn the social, emotional and practical skills to navigate the digital world. Check out this guide from the Office of the eSafety Commissioner and help your child develop good online habits like respect, critical thinking and responsible behaviour.

22.01.2022 As National Examiners for the Royal Australian College of Physicians and Paediatricians, Dr Glenn Harte and Dr David Pincus usually spend a few weeks each year traveling around Australia examining training paediatricians (registrars) who are sitting their clinical exams. This year the exam format has changed to allow for Covid-19 restrictions. To get to this point candidates have already passed an equally intense written exam.... The training doctors are no stranger to hard study. By the time they are able to sit the RACP Clinical Exams they normally have been studying for 10- 12 years (including medical school). But nothing compares to the final 18 months of ultra-intensive study while working long hours and shift work. Anyone who has been a candidate, or knows a candidate, can testify the extent to which normal life is put on hold to climb this Everest of exams. Even after a long career in medicine many doctors still have nightmares about these exams. Once this set of clinical exams are complete, the trainee registrars can move on to the final three years of advanced training before finally qualifying as a paediatrician. Good luck to all the candidates over the next two weekends. And importantly we thank all the children and families who have generously and patiently given up their time for the exams, and over the past year as the registrars prepared for their exam. Your contribution to the development of the next generation of paediatricians is a gift for children into the future.
