25.01.2022 The North Esk Paddle Fest was held yesterday and was an absolutely cracking success. A big turnout, amazing weather and a ripper of a day all combined to make it an amazing event. Lots of laps run on Cataract Gorge today as well. Great to see so many people frothing on paddling and we're looking forward to a big race day on Saturday!
25.01.2022 Once again Bruce Baxter from Paddle Sports Australia and @Baxgear has been a super generous supporter of the Lea Race. We've got a box of goodies from all the big brands ready for the prize draw. If you're buying new gear, go to https://paddlesports.com.au/index.htm for all the good stuff. One more sleep!
23.01.2022 https://paddleaustralia.azolve.com/workbench/public/events Gday guys, In this crazy year we're unfortunately going to have a lot of people keen to enter the Lea Race who won't be able to come to Tasmania.... That just means more chance of winning the early bird prize draw for everyone else! You have until midnight of next Wednesday (19th of August) to get your entry in and be eligible to win a brand new Werner paddle, courtesy of Bruce Baxter and Paddlesports Australia. You also need to get in your order for a cap or t-shirt by the same date. They're great looking bits of gear and we'd love to get enough orders to actually get them in. If we can't make the order you'll get a refund. Hope to see as many people there as possible!

16.01.2022 Hello all. If you're up at the Lea today or tomorrow (or anytime) please drive carefully. There's families who live along Moina Road and they don't appreciate people going too fast on the dirt roads. Similarly, when you're behind the gate, there's lots of blind corners, please drive carefully!
15.01.2022 This year we have a fantastic opportunity for someone in our random prize draw. Destination West Coast has put together a phenomenal trip, with accommodation in Queenstown, rafting on the King River, travelling on the Abt Railway and a 4wd trip out to Mount McCall. It looks amazing! If you jump on their facebook page they've currently got a competition going to win another awesome trip on the west coast, and if you end having some west coast adventures you should tag them on social media with hash tag #adventurewestcoasttas
14.01.2022 Gday guys. This looks like a pretty sweet festival, If you're around the north of the State I think it'd be well worth checking out.
14.01.2022 Make it easier for the organisers, register now instead of on the day!
11.01.2022 As everyone knows, the world is pretty crazy right now. However, all we can do is do our best. Therefore, the Tasmanian Canoe Club is going ahead with plans for the 2020 Lea Extreme Race. Obviously circumstances outside of our control may change.... That aside, mark September the 12th on your calendars for this year's Lea Race. Tassie has had a super wet autumn and things are looking good for a wet winter with lots of water in the river, so start getting excited for a post lock down Tassie paddle fest! Remember; September 12th, 2020.
05.01.2022 This year we have a new sponsor for the Lea Extreme Race, Nomad Kayaks based in Melbourne. They're the new importer for Pyranha and P&H kayaks into Australia and they also manufacture rafting and paddling gear. They've sent a couple of throw bags down and we're looking forward to working with them more in the future, especially once people can actually leave Melbourne again! Check out their facebook page and website and see what they've got to offer.
03.01.2022 Gday guys. Just a quick reminder that the 2020 Lea Extreme Race is on this Saturday! Briefing will be at 1030. No briefing, no race. Weather forecast is looking good, we should have good flows.... Also, remember that dinner will be held at the Tasmanian Canoe Club slalom course at Forth. It's always a great night and we hope to see everyone (paddlers and non-paddlers) there.
01.01.2022 Results of the 2019 Lea Extreme Race - apologies for the incorrect name spellings (and pronunciation last night!). Hope to see you all next year!
