15.01.2022 Sponsors should relinquish their spots for ANZAC and Indigenous Round. AM. This week marks Indigenous Round. It's a week that the NRL should be proud of; because unlike any other sporting code in the country, Rugby League represents the oldest living culture in the world best. From honouring greats such as Arthur Beetson, Johnathan Thurston and Greg Inglis to inspiring the next generation of Indigenous superstars in Latrell Mitchell, Josh Addo-Carr and Jack Wighton, the NRL... gets it right. Similarly, ANZAC Round is one that gets it right for the most part; few fail to be enthralled by the spectacle of the Roosters and Dragons match every year, despite their respective position on the ladder. But one thing that I would like to see is the relinquishing of sponsors on the front of jerseys for these rounds. The 2020 Newcastle Knights jersey is adorned with beautiful dot painting, showing the handprints of Connor Watson, Gehamat Shibasaki and Edrick Lee, as well as the greater Newcastle region - but that stops with the grotesque green NIB sponsorship slapped on the front. Surely there is a better way of conveying such an important week for the sport and the Rugby League community? The Penrith Panthers did this week a couple of years ago with their ANZAC Jersey - where OAK graciously removed their sponsorship just for the week, with an ANZAC logo in its place. In their place, clubs should look to adopt charities and non-profit organisations to promote, as opposed to their own sponsors. This is what both weeks are all about. It's about community, not sponsorship. It only makes sense.

09.01.2022 A controversial choice to say the least, but it's clear that things aren't working for Milford at Brisbane at the moment... So, with a stable halfback in DCE to guide the team and a disciplinarian coach like Des Hasler, we see greener pastures for the five-eighth at Brookvale. Of course, they still have Dylan Walker, and while he does make a solid five-eighth, we feel like he's better suited to the centres where he does the most damage with his evasiveness and speed, wit...hout needing too much responsibility in the halves. Similarly, Milford won't have the expectation that he does at Brisbane, and can run amock off the back of a powerful forward pack featuring Marty Taupau and AFB. Could Milford make it in maroon and white? Or are we just having a laugh here? you tell us...

08.01.2022 COVID-19 cases before the Roosters went back-to-back: 0 COVID-19 cases since the Roosters went back-to-back: 154,480

02.01.2022 Why have the Broncos not performed at their best in the last decade and a half? Simple - the Gold Coast Titans. Now before you call out the fact the Titans haven't been world beaters, well you'd be right. BUT the one thing that they do face as a problem to the Broncos is direct competition - whether that's for sponsorships, junior development or signing NRL players - just look at the David Fifita scenario. ... The numbers don't lie either - since the Titans' inception in 2007, the Broncos have had their worst premiership drought in history, and while they have made the finals for the majority, they have hardly been the powerhouses of old, making just one Grand Final in 13 seasons. This also begs the question - if all three QLD clubs are struggling - even the Broncos - should the NRL still bring in a second Brisbane side? Let us know what you guys think! Are we right or wrong ?

01.01.2022 It's always been said that when the Warriors do well, it's on the back of a tough as nails Aussie player holding the side together. You just have to look at Kevin Campion in the early 00s, to Steve Price, to Michael Luck in the 2010s. So for the first of our 'Fantasy Signings', we've got Storm hardman Dale Finucane. ... Now of course there's more chance of me holding up the premiership trophy than Finucane leaving Melbourne, but with the Warriors forward pack lacking a leader in his prime and in form, Finucane would be the perfect signing for them. Do you think it would work if it eventuated? What potential signings do you want to see that you think could pull off for both player and club?
