23.01.2022 I wish I could send you this scent via Facebook! Its seriously amazing! EcoWud Candles have matched my artwork to a fragrance that is bright, bubbly and an uplifting combination of fruits and florals with a blackcurrant base. Im in love with this smell and what a wonderful local SA collaboration to be part of.
23.01.2022 Now every time Emily and her family walk through their front gate, they a welcomed home by these colourful patterns. This was a really awesome project, creating a design inspired by their garden. Plus their dogs, Scout and Winston, were super cute and friendly.
22.01.2022 Ive just finished an awesome collaboration with landscaper Tim Harper for the 2018 Royal Adelaide Show. This experience really got me thinking about how collabs can go really well and sometimes how they can fall in a heap. Its hard to know when to say yes to an opportunity and what to do to make it work. Im so glad I said yes to this project! Here are Tims Laws of Collaboration that he lives by and you can to. Check out my latest blog for oh so much wisdom! Id love to ...hear about your collaboration experience. https://leahgrant.com.au/news/2018/9//laws-of-collatoration
21.01.2022 Two murals in two weeks! Ive been working on a massive project for Jetty Road, Glenelg and its finally finished! Its been wonderful adding colour for Christmas and celebrating the BRIGHT, snowless festive time of year, here in Australia. Huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, including @luminoevents and @CityofHoldfastBay.
19.01.2022 We need more art in the world. Who wants to look at a boring white wall, when instead there could be a bright and fabulous piece of art. Leah is professional, has a fine attention to detail and it would be terrific to see more of her art appear around Adelaide and its suburbs. - Emily Wilson is the proud owner of a newly painted garden wall by me, plus she has written this extra lovely feedback. I too, 100% agree, WE NEED MORE ART IN THE WORLD! Dont you think?
18.01.2022 Exhibition is all set up and ready to view at Ekto Living in Prospect! Photo by Amy Hannah.
18.01.2022 This is the best project!!! Im painting a new mural for students at Walkerville Primary. They have an amazing art teacher who has done all the organising and fund raising to bring their school community a bright and colourful mural. Natalie is a legend and shes even assisting me on the project to learn more about mural painting. Such a huge help to me and I love sharing what Ive learnt. Im creating a botanical design with a sustainability theme and the students have been ...involved with the design process. They made some awesome patterns and drawings that I will be including in the final design. It was so fun to use their drawings as a reference to the concepts I made. Then the students and teachers voted on their fav out of 3 and now here I am painting what they chose! This is going to bring so much happiness to a blank, brick wall that overlooks their playground. This is for you students of Walkerville!!! I hope you love it. More to come tomorrow.
18.01.2022 Ive made new printable posters and iphone wallpapers to bring some positivity for teachers and parents. https://leahgrant.com.au//creativity-during-coronavirus-pa
17.01.2022 Today I did something Ive never done before! I ran two artist workshops with Year 2s and Year 6s at Rosary School, all about exhibitions at art galleries. I had so much fun getting to know these students and brainstorming their ideas for their own digital exhibition at Newmarch Gallery. Ive been teaching middle and senior school Art for years but never been the guest in someone else classroom, so this was so special...and daunting!... They are a wonderfully creative group of students and all in one session they learnt about galleries, street art and what is involved in an exhibition. Students brainstormed their own ideas for an exhibition and selected one theme and they all created and finished their own masterpiece. Theyll all be displayed very soon for the public to view.

13.01.2022 Painting Stobie Poles has been a fun project to work on over the Easter weekend. Big thanks to the local residence and City of Prospect for making this possible.
13.01.2022 Usually when I paint a mural outside, it’s on the street and people stop to chat and ask questions. It’s lovely, some people are very generous with their compliments and it brightens my day. For this private commission it’s a little different, I’m on my own. Music & podcast galore! Plus I’ve got a curious little Burmese cat, Angel watching me intently from the balcony window. Can cats see colour? I hope he likes what I’m adding to his backyard... there’s a bird to be added s...oon, he should like that right? #makingfriendswithotherpeoplescats #podcastsuggestionswelcome
13.01.2022 As the news changes rapidly during the pandemic, I am also seeing creativity bloom. With all the restrictions of isolation and social distancing we are all being creative. Creative in how we work from home, how we parent, what we create, what we cook, how we shop, where we go, how we connect with others, how we support each other, how we communicate, how we show love. We are all innately creative and during a really difficult time you can find some beauty. Problems are opportunities for creativity. - unknown (I read this somewhere and I dont know the source. But it just stuck with me and I keep thinking about it. Hope it inspires you today. Xx)

09.01.2022 I can not fathom the devastation the fires have caused this summer across Australia. My heart breaks for our nation. For the lives lost, for the animals, homes and bush. I wanted to draw something that represents hope as Im flooded with images of stranded and hurt koalas. For all the burnt out eucalyptus trees, may they begin to grow again. Im giving 100% of the sales on "Hope for Restoration" and "Hope" to The Salvation Army Disaster Appeal. Supporting the work they are doing for those in need across the nation. Thank you to those who have already purchased the print. UPDATE: "Hope for Restoration" is SOLD! Yay! Downloadable "Hope" print is an open edition and still available on my website. Only $10 and 100% goes to the Salvos. xo
08.01.2022 Visited Banks & Brown today to see the logo I designed come to life on tags, uniforms, business cards and the shop signs. I want to take home every plant from this cafe!
08.01.2022 Having fun painting Stobie Poles in Prospect last week.
07.01.2022 Day 2 progress on the Walkerville Primary mural! Starting to add some of the students fabulous patterns. This wall overlooks their courtyard with a sandpit, playground and so many trees and gardens. Making it a very happy play space. Thanks to the schools Art Teacher, Natalie for assisting.
07.01.2022 Sneak peak of my latest mural in Prospect. Im trying out adding some white into the patterns in this design. I really want the mural to connect to the wall, home and surrounding garden. So far, Im finding I need a lot of layers for white, for it not be patchy. It might go unnoticed, but I think the touches of white might be the magic that links all the shapes and patterns together. More layers still to come!
06.01.2022 ITS ABOUT TIME! I have been doing some major procrastinating! FINALLY Ive made a start... https://leahgrant.com.au/news/its-about-time
05.01.2022 A little bit of progress at the North Adelaide cottage courtyard. I am loving working on this project for Susan. Her brief was to add colour to this wall that can be seen from her kitchen downstairs and the upstairs balcony. The design is inspired by her thriving garden. I’m using colours that contrast and match with her flowers and drawn so many different patterns from the vertical garden and passionate fruit vine. I’ve painted as high as I can with my ladder, now I need some scaffolding! If you get bored watching me paint - check out the clouds. Mesmerising!!!!
04.01.2022 Project complete!! Magpie Escape 5m x 3.7m 2020 Location: North Adelaide resident, private commission.
