22.01.2022 Happy Monday Everyone!! I’ll be on the radio today at 10:45am with ABC 1602 am or stream abc local radio South West Victoria!

21.01.2022 ABC radio interview link attached for anyone who missed it and would like to listen. So very proud and honoured to speak with talented journalist Emily Bissland about my love of teaching and singing in our gorgeous region and at Warrnambool’s Emmanuel College. How lucky am I to work with so many glorious people and voices

20.01.2022 As VCAA Exams continue this week, we send a round of applause to our VCE VET Music Performance students whose exams were hosted at Emmanuel College in The STAGE. To complete the two year course, each of the Unit 3/4 VET Music participants presented a 20 minute live performance for three attending external examiners. Well done everyone

19.01.2022 It’s watching students grow like this that has me so in love with my job. When I first met the talented Caitlin Garner late last year her passion for Musical Theatre was so thrilling. She knew every musical, all the songs and had seen more in her short lifetime than I had in my longer one. To watch this incredibly dedicated and devoted young singer work so hard to nurture her big sound, focusing on a healthy technique of unforced beautiful resonance that carries rather than a... loud and pushed sound that would ultimately cause damage, has been so rewarding. There’s been laughs, tears, knock backs, triumphs, days of singing that didn’t go to plan and other lessons where things just clicked and growth happened. I love every moment I work with you Caitlin. Your resilience and eagerness to polish your technique will see you sure to succeed in life. Caitlin, year 12 at Emmanuel College, Warrnambool is currently preparing for her AMEB Grade 5 Musical Theatre exam and this is one of her pieces, I dreamed a dream from Les Miserable, enjoy x See more

19.01.2022 Music has played such an amazing roll during isolation for families. Bernadette Northeast shared this beautiful moment with her two sons working together after their lessons this week. Nick playing the guitar and helping with vocals for his younger brother Charles’ new song A Million Dreams. These two amazingly talented guys have their lessons online in the family living area. I feel so honoured to be welcomed into so many students families and homes. I have loved parents, siblings and relatives being so involved in their children’s passions. It’s always fulfilling for me to watch students develop but to have their families hear growth and change has been beyond rewarding. Keep a watch out for both Nick and Charles Northeast - two exciting voices for our region.

19.01.2022 If these beautiful faces don’t make you smile - my morning could not have started better than with 5 of my gorgeous Primary School students kicking off my day of teaching. 16.01.2022 Back online we go team! Online lessons will resume from this Thursday like they did last term on Zoom. I was so thrilled with how online lessons went last term and still continue to be a terrific success- with many of my students still working with me online from near and far. I’ll miss seeing everyone in person of course but we will make the most of these trying times. It’s a joy to watch everyone, young to old, develop vocally online and most importantly- have fun with ...music; we all need that more than ever lately. Music lifts all. It truly does! Message for online bookings and stay safe xxx See more

14.01.2022 I love seeing dedicated students practicing from home! Clara Hansen is only in Grade 5 and spends most of her days singing and creating songs. 14.01.2022 So incredibly proud of my stunning new studio and office! Tom Taylor Building and team, I cannot thank you enough for this incredible space. The guys had this built for me so quickly and as usual on budget. I can’t recommend Tom Taylor Building more highly. Yesterday was the opening and first busy weekend of song - over the moon with the sound, functionality, design and acoustic. Thrilled for my students to enjoy such a professional stand alone facility.

12.01.2022 What a fabulous week I’ve spent singing, filming and recording in my studio and around our glorious town Port Fairy with the ABC. Thank you to Emily Bissland for making it such an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and to those of my gorgeous students who participated in sharing their stories of personal growth and development through our remarkable lessons. Singing is a truly powerful experience and each student and lesson brings a unique person with a unique voice to my door. How incredibly lucky I am to share in each and every one of their journeys. Stay tuned for details on when it airs. Have a great Sunday!

12.01.2022 Term 3 place available. 11.01.2022 A Friday treat for you all. Lucinda McLean just 11 years old and absolutely loves classical music, in particular German Lied. Such a divine soprano voice developing beautifully, singing Wiegenlied by Brahms. Well done Lucinda on all your hard work this year, Italian, Latin, German - we best add French to our list in 2021 xxx Cath O'Brien

11.01.2022 Very proud of Emily Bissland for sharing this. Do have a listen when you can. Emily I know 2021 is going to be a fabulous year for you and your glorious voice!! Can’t wait to get back into our lesson in a few weeks Emily; ‘Farewell 2020... Happy New Year friends. I’m looking forward to 2021 and grateful to have had one of the best life adventures earlier this year when a personal experimental art audio project thing I made over a period of 4 years grew wings and flew me... to Switzerland ... it’s called When The People Sing and it opened the international section of the Sonohr Radio and Podcast Festival. It’s about the healing power of group singing. It centres around a Canadian pub choir called Choir! Choir! Choir! In Toronto that I truly love. I got shy and didn’t share it but now it’s time. If you have an hour to yourself and headphones then here it is. It’s not background sound, its thoughtful and layered and is a bit like a slow boat down a river - takes up time and space. Hope you like it.’ See more

10.01.2022 Some lovely feedback from the Mum of two of my talented students today. These gorgeous sisters are developing beautifully. The best part of isolation life is parents getting the opportunity to listen in on lessons and hear their children thriving.

09.01.2022 One of my youngest students Chloe Ross only just gone 9, beautifully singing Candle on the Water in preparation for the Preliminary AMEB Musical Theatre exam. Chloes vocal development is absolutely outstanding. She was one of my first private students when I started teaching in our talented region just over a year ago. Chloes sweet voice is developing gloriously, matched with her careful attention to detail in all her pieces - she is a teachers dream. Well done Chloe, a talented and diligent young lady with the world at her feet

Can’t wait to test out the acoustics soon- it’s taking shape beautifully.

06.01.2022 Huge congratulations to Caitlin Garner . Your hard work and dedication during this trying year have absolutely paid off. Caitlin met all prerequisites of the performing course of her dreams, attained an amazing study score of 46 for VET Music AND received an A for her AMEB Grade 5 Musical Theatre. The stars keep shining for you! As well as making the 2020 VCE Honour Roll, she has been invited by VCAA to audition for Top Acts with her VET Music "Quarantine Caity" exam piec...e. 05.01.2022 Another glorious regional voice to listen for, congratulations Millie Kenna on a fabulous 2020. You thoroughly deserve the A you achieved for Grade 3 AMEB Musical Theatre. 04.01.2022 Isolation is proving to be a wonderful time for musicians to get creative. Every lesson these two talented guys bring new material and ideas to their sessions. Thomas Partridge and Minami Deguchi. As hard as this time is for everyone, I’m thoroughly enjoying working with students from their homes. It’s so lovely to hear a change in sounds as they work in their comfort zones. Fresh ideas flow as they work on recordings and their own compositions.

04.01.2022 Very proud of my work with each and every student from this amazing community and afar!! Music lifts all. People all ages and stages learn with me for so many different reasons. To improve vocal ability, for vocal health, to aspire to perform, for their own personal enjoyment and mental well being. I absolutely love my work and am so proud of the online lessons during this challenging and for many, lonely times. No one is alone, we are all in this together xx
