25.01.2022 Just listed for sale on my website. Ocean Edge Round 3. Ocean Edge represents the flow and relationship between land and ocean from an aerial perspective. There is a lot happening in our lives, we sometimes forget to slow down and we lose the flow. Relating the constant tide coming in and out and the untiring flush of waves to the ups and downs in our lives puts things in perspective. Looking out to the ocean reminds me to take a breath, take a step back, ground my feet in t...he Earth, focus on family and what is important right now, and find a better flow to the busyness of life. The first rush of salt water over my feet as I step in to the ocean is a feeling of freedom. Acrylic on canvas. 50cm round x 2cm edge https://www.leahbridesonarts.com.au/pro/ocean-edge-round-3/
24.01.2022 Life Source Acrylic on canvas 60cm round Life Source is a representation of the Namoi river in Gunnedah and Mooki river in Breeza, with parallels to the Murrumbidgee river in ACT, particularly during the dry season. As a young child travelling back to country, I always sensed a great connection to these stretches of water, particularly from hearing stories of my dad and my grandmother playing down by the river with their siblings, cousins and friends. The dryness of my count...ry is depicted in the cracked earth and the gradual vibrancy dots toward the river embodies the importance of caring for our waterways that sustain life. Original artwork and fine art prints available on my website https://www.leahbridesonarts.com.au//life-source-round-or/

17.01.2022 Latest commission piece for a lovely client. A present for her workplace as she leaves for her next journey. Titled ‘Gratitude’. This artwork reflects the workplace, central circle being the people meeting and sharing this journey together in a safe and supportive environment. The journey lines represent being grateful for pathways of people to cross in this space and the positive impact of this workplace in the lives of colleagues and others. Outer circles connected by lines are representative of the impact of the work that is done here and your presence in everyday lives. A relationship between water and land is the core of the artwork that symbolises embedded respect and for First Nations people.
17.01.2022 Edited: *SOLD* New original painting just listed on my website. ‘Kids Pathways’ This artwork was created during the time of the pandemic isolation and having my kids home from school. Spending more time with the kids, playing, learning, observing and just enjoying company, I felt as though I was seeing the word through their eyes and following their pathways during a time of uncertainty. It was as if I was given permission to step back into my childhood, remembering little ...details of the things I would play and the pathways I followed. Although the horizon of this pandemic was and still is unknown, I hold this time dearly and made the most of being with my kids, as a big kid myself. 50.6 x 91.2cm x 3.7cm stretched canvas https://www.leahbridesonarts.com.au/product/kids-pathways/
16.01.2022 Just delivered this commission piece of ‘Ocean Edge’ to a happy client. A thoughtful and personalised gift for her partner to celebrate their anniversary
14.01.2022 The next NAIDOC week product release is fitting for the current weather on Ngunnawal Country... Yuuruu Dance - Fine Art Prints and Canvas Prints. Yuuruu Dance was created after a long dry period in 2019, when the rains finally hit country. In an instant, myself and my kids went out into the rain and danced together, welcoming the yuuruu and hearing Country’s singing voice, her energy and spirit lifting after a quenching thirst.... https://www.leahbridesonarts.com.au/product/yuuruu-dance/

13.01.2022 This week has been busy! Yesterday I ran an art workshop at the Inner North Cluster Indigenous Celebration at Lyneham High School. Kids were so creative, with many deadly designs and ways of sharing their story.... The story behind them: the yellow, red and brown background is the country under our feet, the black pathways and circles are the connection between the schools, students and communities in the cluster and the designs by the students are what they think, see, feel and wonder about Country, paying homage to the NAIDOC theme, Always Was, Always Will Be. Thanks sis @elinorarcher for some of the photos. I will post a video to explain what they’re for and where these canvases will go...
12.01.2022 ‘Stories in the land’. Acrylic on canvas. 8x10inch diptych. Our stories live in the landscape. Country tells our story, we live, breathe, sing and dance our stories to life. 10.01.2022 ‘Two Worlds’ Acrylic on Canvas 60cm Round Two Worlds is a story about navigating the world between two cultures and two world views. The path can be hard, especially trying to swim through the unfamiliar and the contradictory, but always know that your Ancestors, mob and country are there to guide you.... 09.01.2022 Past. Present. Future. Acrylic on canvas. 91x50cm. This artwork, inspired from the Ocean Edge series, tells the story of our connection to the past, present and the future. There are 3 meeting places, all connected by journey lines, that acknowledge the traditional custodians and our ancestors that have paved the way and continue to guide us through this side of the Dreaming. The ocean edge represents the flow and relationship between land and ocean from an aerial perspective.... This also symbolises the continual connection to the past, present and future. Looking out to the ocean reminds me to take a breath, take a step back, ground my feet in the Earth, focus on family and what is important right now, and find a better flow to the busyness of life, whilst looking back to the land, where my ancestors walked, gives perspective on the vastness of our Dreaming connection to country. Available now on my website https://www.leahbridesonarts.com.au/pr/past-present-future/
09.01.2022 This piece went to its forever home last week. First time I have hand painted a frame. I think the black looks deadly and makes the artwork pop! Life Source.... Life Source is a representation of the Namoi river in Gunnedah and Mooki river in Breeza, with parallels to the Murrumbidgee river in ACT, particularly during the dry season. As a young child travelling back to country, I always sensed a great connection to these stretches of water, particularly from hearing stories of my dad and my grandmother playing down by the river with their siblings, cousins and friends. The dryness of my country is depicted in the cracked earth and the gradual vibrancy dots toward the river embodies the importance of caring for our waterways that sustain life.
