21.01.2022 Did you know that from the 1st of July 2021 the Superannuation Guarantee minimum will rise from 9.5% to 10%? These contributions are legislated to increase by 0.5% annually until it reaches 12% in 2025. Other changes to super are slated to follow. SMH published an article about it recently: https://www.smh.com.au//take-note-your-super-will-radicall

18.01.2022 You have heard me talk about the importance of coming off the tools in business. It all comes down to effective delegation - working with the right team with the right capacity. We all can have trouble letting go (myself included!) and we often suggest that outsourcing tasks is a great way to start delegating. Whilst many small businesses baulk at the additional expense, you need to really consider what your time is worth and if what you (or your employees) are spending billable hours on is bringing the maximum amount of value to your business. For our clients, this often starts with taking the book keeping off their hands so they can focus on working and growing their business. If you missed the blog you can read it here.https://minnik.com.au/time-to-get-off-the-tools/

18.01.2022 The end of JobKeeper: Implications for cash flow and employment. Without adequate cash flow, a business cannot survive, despite all else going well. Even if your businesses profit has remained strong during the pandemic, profit and cash flow are two separate concepts, each one being reliant on the other. Businesses must take the time now to rework their cash flow projections without the security of the JobKeeper wage subsidy taken into consideration. They must also consider... the worst case scenario when it comes to turnover. It is also wise to remember that whilst there is continual talk about businesses who will need to cut their staff numbers, the shoe may also be on the other foot as some employees (particularly casuals) who no longer have the security of the additional income look elsewhere for employment - leaving you needing to potentially invest in the development of new staff. 07.01.2022 Time to get off the tools! Many business owners feel they need to be 100% involved with all aspects of their business for it to run successfully. This is particularly true of Tradie business owners who have normally spent many years being hands on'' and engaged in their craft from which they have built their venture. The truth is, delegation and building a successful team around you is a key factor in the growth of any business. Business owners therefore need to set up a st...rategy to get off the tools, and spend time working on other aspects which will help the business thrive. https://minnik.com.au/time-to-get-off-the-tools/ See more
