22.01.2022 All good things come to an end 4 years in operation; 100’s of kittens and cats rescued from dire situations; working with students from universities during stress less and mental health events. Partnering with vet clinics who helped out time and time again, even in the wee hours of the morning! Neonatal kittens with around the clock bottle feeding and then Queen mumma cats giving birth here, there and everywhere! Getting updates years after a kitten adoption to find out ...the kitten (now adult kitty) and her mother migrated to Europe together! LPF fur parents adopting a kitten and then coming back years later to find them a fur-sibling from us again my heart is absolutely bursting with happiness. It has been an amazing 4 years with everyone here in Canberra, and I will be closing this chapter knowing that I have made a (albeit small) difference in the kitten population here. If there is something I do ask of the wonderful people here in Canberra, is to remember Leah’s name... My mother, Leah, passed away as just another person who fell victim to her mental health. From hospitals releasing her the day of her suicide attempts; counsellors and psychologists becoming unaffordable; stigma and judgment forcing her out of work and to keep quiet about her suffering; all the way to landlords making it increasingly hard to live somewhere with her beloved cats. My purpose for this rescue was to give my mother a positive send off and have her name against something she could be proud of A Pawsitive Future to look forward to. It was also to address the stigma behind mental health, giving myself and my team an avenue to talk to people openly about their experiences with depression and anxiety. Over the next month or so we will be winding down our rescue operation, donating our kitty belongings to wonderful rescues like Flossie's kitten rescue and Canberra Street Cat Alliance. We ask all regular donators to discontinue their automated transactions as we finish up our reporting with our accountant and distribute the remaining funds to other charitable, small-scale Canberra rescues. I will distribute any outstanding receipts for the donations received in this financial year too. Our rescue FaceBook page will stay open as a means to keep connected with our adopted rescue babies, and very likely share a cat meme or two Thank you so much for the opportunity to blossom this idea I had 4 years ago, into something so special. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my adopters, foster carers, donators and everyone who shared our posts throughout this whole experience. The ups, the downs, it was all so worth it. Alicia xx

06.01.2022 Updates from their adoption 4 months ago: Ex LPF kittens Sausage and Barbie, now Peach and Lana, have made their new home theirs. They are absolutely smitten with each other and have grown so much! I love pair adoptions, and it’s even cuter seeing them after time has passed and they’ve grown together
