19.01.2022 Leambro Somelikeithot waiting for the farrier this morning

18.01.2022 Leambro Reminisce this morning with a foggy background after she and Lucille did their usual trick of getting into the back yard.

18.01.2022 Leambro Somelikeithot and Phoenix today.

17.01.2022 Leambro Somelikeithot left us yesterday for a new and exciting time ahead at his new home with a talented horsewoman. He will be doing Cowboy Dressage, Team Penning, Trail Riding and attending Clinics which I know he will love. It was a sad but happy day for us all but I know he will enjoy getting out and about.

15.01.2022 We went for a walk this morning and of course were followed back by all and sundry. Leambro J’Adore (half sister to Somelikeithot) and Leambro Coco Chanel. Both sired by SFG Drayton. Rising 3yo Fillies.

14.01.2022 Just a quick clip to show just how athletic Aussie is, even after 2 years off. He's absolutely for phenomenal. He would be wasted as a dressage horse imo.

14.01.2022 Nothing like frolicking in the Winter sun.

12.01.2022 Went for a walk in the paddock this afternoon and was greeted by a woolly Izarra.

11.01.2022 I'm all about chances with horses, give them every chance you can. You need to give them every opportunity to learn and understand what you are asking before yo...u reprimand them for something. Aussie has been broken in and had his 6 weeks riding, that was 4 years ago. I hopped on 2 years ago for a bit, just to give him a refresher. Today I came back, and we did it all again. Say hello, remember all our groundwork and flexion, then a saddle up. With green horses, it is so important that what we teach on the ground translates to the saddle. For me the bare bones basic groundwork solves 90% of our problems under saddle. When Aussie feels me in the saddle again, and gets a wee fright, that's ok, but I remind him that acting out is not OK. The first thing I teach a horse is to flex their neck, and bring the nose to the boot. This is like saying, "Calm down, think about it, and try again when you are settled." And see how it works for Aussie. He takes a moment or two, but then he walks off as he is asked to. Nothing about this is perfect, and there is A LOT left to be desired. The saddle doesn't fit, his teeth need doing, and the bit doesn't fit too well. But for a green horse, who has had 7 weeks riding over 4 years, I would say there is a lot to love to. His memory, his brain, his athleticism, his want to trust and try. There's a lot to love in this big boy.

10.01.2022 Lazy Sunday afternoon on the farm.

09.01.2022 Leambro Lucille gets herself and Reminisce in and out of their paddock and shares hay with Levis. Such is the temperament of this Stallion. They then usually take themselves around to visit Somelikeithot and then back out to mum!!!
