25.01.2022 Jaimie and I sat on the beach a few days ago as the sun was setting watching toddlers playing in the pools of pink water left on the sand by the evening tide. The seagulls were weaving in and around and the babies were squealing in delight as fat little legs splashed and jumped. The laughing teenagers were waist high in the inky waves as the sun sat on the horizon momentarily before it slipped under the blanket of ocean. It was a snapshot of life. It reminded me of the rare d...ays when my kids were content and I could sit satisfied knowing that the little ones would soon exhaust themselves and the day would conclude with a peaceful sigh.It was simply perfect. It made us feel part of a much bigger family as if it weren’t just the two of us. We felt that we belonged to it all. We needed nothing more than life was able to give us in that warm tranquil slice of time. See more

24.01.2022 Now that Christmas is over and presents opened I can post one such present that a lovely girlfriend of mine gave to her other half as a gift. It’s always a risk to give someone a painting of themselves but she is a admirable risk taker and forged ahead anyway. Thank goodness it paid off and he loved the gesture as well as the painting.

24.01.2022 My latest teaching video. Loved this painting. If you are not a member yet and you are serious about improving I encourage you to give this a try. Feedback has been amazing. https://leannepearson.podia.com/leanne-pearson-membership

23.01.2022 Hi All Have just got my studio in order for a collector of mine to come and choose a new piece and I thought while it’s all up if anyone is in the area and keen to pop around I will be here all day. Anyone welcome

22.01.2022 Is there any place more beautiful than Rottnest Island Perth. I feel so privileged to be here with two other wonderful artists and friends. It is literally heaven. Thank you universe.

22.01.2022 Am staying in a beautiful rustic old farmhouse in toodjay after not getting the finance for the farm I thought I had purchased. Dealing with loss, grief, displacement and pain. Very rugged...so I thought I would add to it by fasting and taking time out by myself in a friends property. Have managed to do only 1 painting and here it is. This is the original old kitchen and it’s Devine. I have discovered a few truths 1) you can’t think your way out of grief because repressing it ...causes problems later on 2)fasting is not a good idea when you are mentally stressed 3) 1 really need to sit through this...all of it and if I can be patient and kind to myself I can do it. Very hard for someone so driven 4)I need to drop fear like a hot cake and take up faith instead 5)I have so much to be grateful for and art is one of them..so blessed See more

21.01.2022 This is Maggie who has been helping me with my videos for my online course. We have some fabulous material especially for those who are so keen to do a quantum leap in their painting practice. Maggie stood patiently for about 12 hours over about 3 days for this painting.

20.01.2022 My beautiful clients have said time and time again that if there were a fire in their homes the first things they would grab are their paintings

20.01.2022 Late spring in Toodjay. Catching the last of the wildflowers. Painted this little poem( that’s what it feels like to me..reminds me of Anne of Green Gables) using Leon Holmes little pochade box that I won at the Mandurah plein air painting festival. He was kind enough to give me tips on how to get the best from it and I loved it.. thanks Leon

20.01.2022 Went to a friends home today with Mags who did the video. I was so inspired by all her beautiful collections of things and she lives in a gorgeous old home. Everywhere you look is a painting waiting to happen. I never would have painted anything like this if I hadn’t gone to her home. Loved the process and am going to produce a video to add into my online membership.Loved the shapes, the negative spaces and the old fashioned feel.

How to paint a fairly large painting in a short period of time using minimal strokes to let the brain fill in the rest. How to create an obvious focal point. How to decide on what to play up and what to play down so that the story has drama... How to lose the necessary edges so your eye moves where you want it to How to set up your darks so you can pull lights straight over keeping everything fresh See more

16.01.2022 My studio at the moment. Just a quick study to be finished later

15.01.2022 Love is the space between things that hold us all together. This precious moment will be forgotten only to be replaced by a million more. Wish I could remember every single one because sometimes we get too distracted to realise the incredible beauty in such a moment.

09.01.2022 Recently Jaimie and I headed South in the troopie to sleep under the stars and explore our beautiful coastline. We met a gorgeous couple. Our dogs and their kids hit it off famously. The boys were throwing sand balls for the pups to chase. This painting’s purpose is to recreate that warm sunny feeling and to express the innocent spontaneous play of the young uns. It’s telling the story of a hot summers day and the ceaseless energy that both the boys and dogs engender in each other. It’s a celebration of that moment in time. My paintings have always been about expressing my journey. I don’t paint with the intention to sell. I paint to explore myself and the world around me and to express what touches and changes me.

09.01.2022 The videos arrive today. Super excited to see what you do with them - https://mailchi.mp//the-videos-arrive-today-super-excited-

09.01.2022 The babies are cold as we wait for everyone to arrive for the exhibition. Yesterday was so so busy and a fantastic day.. see ya later

09.01.2022 Went for a run and swim at the beach. It was spectacular and I was focusing on the connection with the breath and was expecting to feel good but I have an underlying sadness that seems to be in every cell of my body..the unexpressed grief. My whole body is mourning the loss of my beautiful son. It’s in every breath I take and I know now that this is my time to accept and love the sadness for what it is. I am so grateful that I have the time and space to explore all of this ...and I have discovered that this is exactly where I am supposed to be right now...growing in understanding, acceptance and love for my experiences, my consciousness and the people in my world. I am focusing on creating within myself a deep reverence for all that life presents to me. All is as it is meant to be. I have chosen this journey to grow and by god that is what I will do. I will rise like the Phoenix( or chahauhau) and I will reach as high as I am capable of to find my true spiritual self. I will see this life as the precious gift it is, even in pain and suffering, and I will bring joy and light to those I encounter through loving acceptance of myself and of others. I am blessed in my seeking for higher truth,in my unwillingness to be ordinarily blind to the significance of this experience...in my yearning to feel good (god) and to seek a higher connection to myself in love, joy, humility and truth. This is my mantra for this droplet of a lifetime in the big ocean of connectedness

08.01.2022 Playing with drawing on the iPad. Sitting at the Mindarie Marina watching the water sparkle as Spring presents with another perfect day in WA.

07.01.2022 Creating a portrait video for my online courses and I got to paint a lovely Gent who was a superb model. Love painting from life so much. This rendition took 2 hours

05.01.2022 Had a break from editing and videoing today to do this 2 hour painting of these gorgeous persimmons that Maria Creedon dropped over for me to paint..thanks I loved the opportunity to dive into such delicious colour

02.01.2022 My beautiful clients have said time and time again that if there was a fire in their homes the first thing they would save was their portrait paintings.

01.01.2022 Another plein air painting done in the Mandurah plein air downunder competition. Found this little stall with its jugs and flowers magical and set up to paint. Loved the light.
