Even when someone interviews well & I invite them to come for a trial, it’s rare they actually show up. But, if they aren’t coming, they don’t even bother to let me know or answer my calls. It’s so frustrating. Every small business owner I speak with tells me the same thing. We know for a fact that there are people openly telling employers that there is no reason for them... to come to work, they might be available after JOB KEEPER FINISHES. Yes there are industries such as hospitality who need it, while there are still limits on guests. But for the rest of us... Job keeper is crippling small business. Where are all the people? If you know anyone looking for work as a house cleaner, they need an ABN, current police check, drivers license, up to date mobile phone and own reliable car. We work Monday to Friday. The must be physically able to: Climb stairs carrying a vacuum cleaner. Climb stairs carrying a mop bucket of water. Kneel, bend, lift, reach up high. Read, understand and follow instructions. Complete tasks in a set time frame to a high standard. We work in teams so being able to work with others, and follow set procedure is vital. Read & write in fluent English. Must be reliable, honest and trustworthy. Must have pride in their work. Must have attention to detail. No one from our team will attend your house: - if they are unwell for any reason - if they have been overseas in the last 2 weeks, or been in contact with anyone who has - if they have tested positive to coronavirus, or been in contact with anyone who has We are practicing & enforcing Social Distancing of minimum 1.5m and appreciate your assistance with this. Please find a place to sit/congregate stay away from the cleaners, and minimise moving around your home for the time they are there. While its great with everyone doing the right thing & staying home, we have found that people move around their house as normal, causing the cleaners to move out of the area they are working in so that social distancing is maintained. This makes the cleaners job more difficult & the cleaning takes longer. We are travelling with up to 2 people in a car, eg. the driver & 1 passenger travelling in the back seat on the passenger side. We will have a 3rd person in another car if the job requires it. - Coughing or sneezing into the crook of the elbow - hand washing with soap & water for 20 seconds - hand washing after using tissues, & appropriately disposing of tissues - applying hand sanitiser after removing gloves (eg in the car) PPE Personal Protective Equipment - our team will enter houses THEN put their gloves on (masks will already be on) - regular changing of gloves while in the house & used gloves will be disposed of appropriately Our multi purpose spray has disinfectant in it Our floor cleaner has disinfectant in it We have always only ever used cloths & mop heads once, then they are washed using detergent & nappisan, and continue to do this. We are an essential service, we can continue cleaning for our NDIS, Workcover & Aged clients. ... Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Permitted to Work Permits & Covid Safe plans are all part of stopping the spread of coronavirus. Updates for gardening & lawn mowing are coming. Checked if & what changes we needed to make and followed them through. What about private households? Yes, we can continue to provide cleaning & gardening services to our clients. What changes were made? We followed advice from NDIS as some of our clients are vulnerable. We implemented the recommendations across our business; social distancing, wearing masks & gloves; putting on clean gloves when we enter each house & changing them regularly during each clean.
