24.01.2022 As part of the lead up to the Mundaring Hills Open Studios - thought I would share some of that promised artwork that you will be able to see up close and personal when you swing by the studio over that weekend!! (you are all welcome!) This piece is one of the artist books that I have been making. It was very much part of the whole Indian exploration - the wonderful journey that was my residency at Sanskriti (New Delhi.)
23.01.2022 As promised from September 1 - I will be posting lots of my studio work as a lead up to the Mundaring Hills Open Studios in late October... Hopefully I may be able to entice some of you to my studio door!!!
22.01.2022 This Friday evening is the Exhibition Opening - 26S 121E | On The Map - up at the Mundaring Arts centre. Thought that I would share a few images of the work that I have as a part of that show.
20.01.2022 With next months open studios - it is such a wonderful opportunity to share a little bit more of the work that has been been quietly developing in the studio over the last few years... that has been sitting dorment in drawers and folders - just waiting to be exposed!!!! Looking forward to showing it to you!
18.01.2022 In preparation for October - I have been having such fun on these long, cool, wet evenings - creating little artworks that will be included for sale in amongst all my goodies... over the open studio weekend ... am loving doing the wee colourful birds!
16.01.2022 Well - we only have a week to go before the doors open and we welcome you into our home and my studio! It is getting pretty exciting as it all comes together.... we have quite a line up plan! It will not just be 'my studio' that's open for you to have a good fossick through... and me that you can have a chat with - but we will be using our outdoor space to huge advantage! There will be: Lots of lovely product from my Wild by Nature range - perfect timing for Christmas pres...ents!! The wonderful local artist and calligrapher Judith Ann - as a guest artist for the weekend... she'll be inspiring us all with her 'writing' on the day! I also have some stunning paintings by my dearest old 'African' friend - Cape Town based Sue Maas, who has sent me some of her beautiful bird paintings..... available for sale! There is an awesome collection of hand stitched cards and notebooks - created by my own Briony Rose. Her buddy Charlotte is also bringing a little collection of her artwork. (Both girls are art students at the Kalamunda Gate art program) My lovely old school friend Heather - is baking the most incredible cup-cakes for the day - which will be sold to raise funds for Shenton Park Dog Refuge.... our favourite place for family additions!!! We will have lots of refreshments available and few great spots to sit and mull over your decisions! I have included a couple of pictures of my own wee birds, a nest and three of Sue’s beautiful oils - just to wet your appetite! So looking forward to seeing you here next weekend - 28th and 29th October - 10am onwards! See more
15.01.2022 With the return of the long evenings and the garden calling - the winter production has ceased! But as part of the open studios I will have 20 odd coiled baskets to show! From tiny wee things to a few larger pieces. Would love to be able to share them with you! Come along to the open studios later this month!
14.01.2022 Hi ya - just a wee reminder about the open studios starting this weekend!! If you are kicking around and looking for something creative to do.... love you to join me! Please see the Mundaring Hills Open studio website for all the info! A while back I produced a whole collection of beautiful hemp cushion covers with West Australian wildflowers. They have been designed to mix and match! I will have them all out for you to have a shuffle through. Please take some home - I really want to make more room in my studio!!!!

11.01.2022 Its been so long since I last used FB - I have almost forgotten how to use it - and you will have almost forgotten who I am!!!.... But now that I have something worth sharing - I will be bothering you on a much more regular basis! In a few weeks I will be throwing open the doors to my studio and inviting you all in! It has been a very busy year and whilst I am still working in chaos - I will tidy up just for you! The Mundaring Hills open Studios happen over two weekends this year - 20/21 October and 27/28 October. You would be so welcome to join me and share a little of what I have been up to!
10.01.2022 Just how beautiful are these!!!! This awesome collection of small oils (30 x 30cm) painted by my dear old friend Sue Maas - would make for the most wonderful gift this Christmas... if you are stuck looking for that something wonderful for a bird / natural history nut.... these are for you!!!! I will have Sue's work on display and for sale... this weekend as part of the Mundaring Hills open studio... at my place! Looking forward to seeing you here!!!
09.01.2022 Starting the tidy up in my hectic creative space - ready for the Mundaring Hills Open Studios next month - can't possibly have you all visit in its usual state of chaos! I have also been finishing off a pile of work that has been lurking around in piles - half complete! Had a brilliant long weekend putting some of those together.... looking forward to sharing them!!! Here are a few bits of my my brightly coloured explorations!
09.01.2022 This is one of my more recent projects - and the photos have been very kindly shared by David Dewsbury! Thanks David.
08.01.2022 I have always been fascinated and influenced by tribal works - and have for many years combined them with my own style of patterning. This is a detail from a piece that is part of a series of tattooed women.
06.01.2022 Been tidying up the garden and sorting out the pool area - its looking pretty respectable! Great backdrop in which to show some of my work during the Mundaring Hills Open Studio weekends! The plants are all thriving....there's lots of colour. Its been a brilliant season for all the succulents!
04.01.2022 Its going to be a busy next few months!!!
03.01.2022 As is typical of some of what I do - I scratch around amongst the old stuff - looking how to make it new, fresh and exciting stuff... and whilst looking for a particular file - I found this - and just had to share it. This is Scooter - he was my very much loved wee hound who has been gone almost a year now - but he always made us laugh! Just like this day - when I walked into the studio - to see him happily perched in the middle of my desk! And before you ask - yes - I do always work in semi chaos!!!
01.01.2022 When I really should have been doing something way more productive (read useful!!!) I decided instead to add a little colour to the dodgy old pathway that leads to the studio! But at least now - your welcome will be a little colourful!
01.01.2022 Thought I would share this interview done a while back - it seems very appropriate - just as I am inviting everyone into my open studio.... after all this is what it is all about!! Don't forget to put Saturday and Sunday 28 and 29 October into your diaries... looking forward to sharing with as many people as possible as part of the Mundaring Hills open Studios.!
