21.01.2022 Pandemic fatigue is definitely a thing. And it can creep up on us, disguising itself as fatigue, low motivation and at times....even anxiety and depression. . Let’s face it, COVID just isn’t going away. Despite assurances of an eventual vaccine it’s likely that we will all need to get used to hearing about 2nd, 3rd, 4th waves etc. How exhausting. . Pandemic fatigue is a normal response. It’s basically a deep resignation of our current unstable and uncertain reality. Almost l...ike acceptance, only we still don’t really know what the future holds. So what are we actually accepting? . So how do you know if you are experiencing pandemic fatigue? Here a 5 signs that it may be COVID triggering your angst. . 1. You feel irritable after watching the news. 2. You find yourself using less steriliser and forgetting to wear a mask when in public. 3. You feel more intolerant of people. 4. You don’t feel productive 5. You feel helpless (as opposed to hopeless) about the future. If you can relate to these, know that you are not alone. We are all trying to adjust to this global uncertainty in our own way. Take some time to focus on your immediate surroundings; loved ones, home life, work, hobbies. Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t do. We will get through this. Somehow. It’s important that we don’t stray from the course, keep being safe, and most importantly....keep being there for each other. . . #pandemicfatigue #overitall #mentalhealth #support #covid_19 #burnout
