23.01.2022 Do you have one or 2 or a set of these at home and aren't sure exactly what to do with them? Have you had an injury or pulled up sore from using a kettlebell and wondered if your technique is possibly not quite right? I love the kettlebell as a fitness tool and have been using one and training others to use one for around 12 years now, yes back before they even hit the mainstream :). ... I have trained with some of the most experienced kettlebell coaches both in Australia and internationally because if I am going to teach something I want to make sure I know I am passing on quality education, not internet or youtube heresay. So if you would like to come and learn to get the most out of your kettlebell, if you are currently using it as a doorstop (yes lots of people do that) and would like to instead experience what this great fitness tool can do for your body, then come jump into our kettlebell session. 21.01.2022 This new normal isn’t too bad at all. Online Live Group Training. Straight from my lounge room. No exotic backdrop, no fancy equipment, dogs running around but it’s effective and it proves you don’t need the perfect place or circumstances to get started or to keep up your training. 21.01.2022 How would you feel about sitting a test that you have failed or haven’t managed to pass many times before? How much emotional energy would it take? How much mental energy would you have to conjure up to convince yourself to sit that test again? How exhausting! That’s how I see dieting. That’s how I see eating for weight loss. Now imagine a test that you haven’t taken yet? A test that has no right or wrong answers and is open to interpretation. In other words a test yo...u cannot fail! That makes me curious, somewhat excited and sounds like an adventure to me! That’s how I see nutrition and eating to thrive. Eating to thrive, to me, means having energy, having a clear and happy mind and being physically healthy. The by-product of eating to thrive for most people is fat loss. So..sit that test that you haven’t managed to pass before, that requires a lot of emotional and mental energy and is exhausting, for a very slim chance of passing it this time. OR Sit the test that you cannot fail, that as a by-product, has the outcome you are chasing anyway but that is exciting and is an adventure. Hmm.sounds like a simple decision to me. BUT lots of smart people do dumb things and will continue to do so. I know I did. Over and over again. Until I changed the way I thought about everything health, fitness and fat loss related. Nutrition coaching isn’t about writing meal plans for people and telling them what to do. Its about helping them see things clearly and giving them the support and courage to do things differently. 19.01.2022 This was taken a couple of days before my surgery. 1 Legged Sit to Stand. I have done thousands of these over the past 10 years or so and mostly to a much lower box than this one but in the lead up to having a meniscal root repair I hit them frequently and in high reps and just as well. I would hate to have gone into recovery not strong and not prepared. At present I perform this movement dozens of times each day just to do life. To get onto a chair, onto the couch, the be...d, the toilet and also to get off all these things as well. It’s just something you want to be able to do to be mobile and independent through life, stand up on one leg unassisted. That’s why I include them in our classes in the gym, the programs I write for people and even in our home program thats included as part of our online Learn to be Lean 6 Week Fat Loss Program. I’m all for training for a banging bod but no point having a bod that can’t do life!

18.01.2022 Due to some last minute cancellations, we now have a couple of spots in our Teen Girls training sessions. After more than 15 years in the fitness industry and more than 5 years specialising in training Teens, it is still my favourite part of my job and my business. Helping girls fall in love with exercise at this age and focusing on what our bodies can do instead of what they look like is such a worthwhile investment of my time and energy and such a worthwhile investment ...for parents of teens. I take girls into classes from 13 (the year they turn 13) through to 18 years of age with many of the girls having been with us for more than 4 years now. Classes run from Regency Beach Club Gym at 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and cost $148 for the term.

14.01.2022 I received this message from a client after our Making Muscles class. Proof you can still make progress in strength gains with minimal equipment training from home. This chickie moved from PT twice a week to online classes at home which allowed her to be very consistent and increase her training to 3-4 x per week and tada, she’s reaping her rewards. More proof that consistency is king! 14.01.2022 A text that made my heart sing today from one of the girls who’s in week 4 of our Learn to be Lean 6 week fat loss program. No fads here, no counting calories,... no cutting out foods, no being hungry and fighting cravings here. No eating seperate meals to the rest of the family, no excessive exercise and smash yourself sessions. No giving up cake or chocolate or alcohol. Just good old fashioned balanced meals and moving your body. It sounds too easy to be effective but that’s the thing I’ve found is that people try too hard and then can’t stick to it. Consistency is key. Our next group start date is July 29 but if you don’t want to wait then hit me up, we can start you off on the realistic and healthy fat loss path now! P.S. I told her to use some form of measure or she’d regret it AND I can vouch she has gotten leaner every week since beginning.

These 45 minute group sessions take the girls through a workout teaching them how to move well, get stronger and help them improve their fitness within a non competitive and supportive gym environment. ... 08.01.2022 Here we go . Still not cleared to walk on my right knee but I am cleared to cycle with no resistance and progress is progress. It’s been nearly 10 weeks since being able to train/use my lower body, I can’t express how excited this bike ride was today. One happy girl over here . #gratitude
08.01.2022 Because I can !! Out road testing or trail testing my knee today on hills and rocks... because I can. Hiking is a love of mine and the deciding factor in me choosing to have knee surgery. I wasnt able to hike over an hour without the knee getting angry and well #ivegotplacestogobaby!! I’ve got a big wide world out there to hike yet so after a year of conventional treatment that didn’t work, surgery was the decision. I’m still not sure it was the right decision but I hop...e in a years time I look back and think it was. But for now, working with what I’ve got, I got over rocks and down, up hills and down and whilst the knee still doesn’t work or perform like it should, it felt better not worse after my hike sooo looks like for these next few sunny days no housework or admin is going to get done . Check out where we live. So grateful. The number of times I still say wow out loud when I walk this track. Add in the blue wrens out there today and I would describe it as heaven . #walkinnature
06.01.2022 NEW TIMETABLE Our Live Online Classes are going great, we are onto our 4th week of training and think its fair to say we have all found our feet with the tech side of things. We have accepted what is instead of wishing for what was and making the most of training from home. And its actually a lot better than we thought it was going to be! Our classes are coaching sessions tailored to the individual and what equipment they have, if any and to any injuries or limitations they ...have, if any. They are also open to ANYONE who wants to come and play with us. So if your home training plan is a bit hit and miss or you just haven't found your groove, then come and join us for accountability, variety, individualisation and an effective home training session. There are 12 to choose from every week. Prices start from $12 per week and you can simply do a single session or sign up for a membership and get unlimited training sessions and coaching specific to you. I will go through things with you ahead of time and I promise you its simple.
05.01.2022 GROUP TRAINING IS BACK!! $12 PER SESSION 4 PEOPLE PER GROUP EQUIPMENT BASED STRENGTH OR CARDIO SESSIONS. OUTDOORS AND UNDERCOVER.... After 5 long weeks I am excited to announce that In Person Group Training is back. Our online sessions are working beautifully for some, however if that is not for you but you would like to get back into some good old LLPT style training then come and join us face to face. Classes are $12 and are taught outdoors as per government regulations but undercover protected from the weather. These are equipment based classes (no bootcamps here) so numbers are capped to 4 per class due to no sharing of equipment allowed. Please see our timetable and see if there is something that interests you and if so come and join us. 7am and 9.30am sessions will be added to the timetable upon request. 04.01.2022 Sunday morning walk in the sun yesterday and as well as taking in the sights, sounds and smells of our amazing coastline I wanted to test out my knee and what it thinks of stairs these days. I walked down these stairs forwards, one foot on each stair at a time. 6 weeks ago I could only walk down right leg leading, 4 weeks ago I could only walk down them sideways. Today I walked forwards with a normal stepping pattern. #excited #progress There are so many things I cannot do st...ill but I always try to focus on what I CAN do. It’s not where we are at that determines how we feel, it’s our thinking around where we are at that either allows us to be happy despite our challenges or pissed off and frustrated. Resistance and annoyance of what isn’t instead of acceptance of what is takes up a shit load of energy and mental space that could be well used elsewhere to create something great . #changeyourthinkingtochangeyourreality
03.01.2022 Mid load number 2. I took this photo Tuesday morning but have been too busy to post it this week as we swiftly moved training to online and arranged delivery/collection of fitness equipment to all my current and long term trainees. Kilos and kilos of kettlebells, dumbbells and weight plates. There was a lot of farmers walks going on this day . Gym is empty, doors are locked but everyone has tools in hand and smoothly transitioned to training from home . Feeling proud and thankful. Here’s to our new normal.. for now .
02.01.2022 TEEN GIRLS TRAINING - STARTS JULY 21ST TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAYS 5PM After 15 years of training experience and 6 years of specialising in teen training, I am pretty happy to say, it still is the favourite part of my job. ... I have had the pleasure of watching many of these girls start out with me as quiet, self conscious 13 year olds and after 5 years I get to witness their transformation into fit, strong and confident. Its not all due to exercise but it certainly can and does play a big role. STRONG BODY, STRONG MIND, is actually a thing! My 45 minute group sessions take the girls through a workout teaching them how to move well, get stronger and help them improve their fitness within a non competitive and supportive gym environment. Through this environment and via casual conversations I aim to foster positive minds, a healthy attitude to food and good body image. Classes numbers are capped which is in part how we provide a non intimidating environment. Term 3 starts July 21st. Sessions are $16.50 each and there are a few spots remaining for this term. 02.01.2022 My cup is full today after having the opportunity this morning to share my passion, put on my teaching hat and teach a motivated lady how to use kettlebells safely and effectively so she can use this portable and time tested tool at home and when she is away at work. The passion for me isnt for the tool itself but more for the style of training it is used for. Kettlebell training is mindful. Anything that keeps us in the moment is a great thing for a busy and scattered m...ind. Kettlebell training is a skill. And skills take practice, making it the perfect motivation to pick up the bell regularly to get better at it. Kettlebell training is based on whole body exercises. Its about movement instead of muscles.
