25.01.2022 YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament goes online! Each Year, the Queensland Youth Parliament is held at Parliament House with fantastic debates by youth members from across the state. This year due to COVID-19, Youth Parliament went online via Zoom! ... I 'zoomed' in from the Nudgee electorate office today to chair a youth bill debate on education and health in schools. Fantastic, considered contributions from the youth members, including our very own Youth Member for Nudgee, Cindy. Well done to all youth members and executive of YMCA for another great program this year. #futureleaders
25.01.2022 Annastacia Palaszczuk stood strong against extreme pressure from Deb Frecklington and the LNP to reopen our borders at a critical time. In doing so she saved lives and helped prevent further disruption to our economy. Because of that, we are able to focus on our economic recovery plan, which is about creating jobs and supporting businesses - in contrast to the LNP, which will have to sack workers and sell-off assets to fund its $24b in unfunded commitments. #TeamQLD
25.01.2022 No need to worry kids - Santa is still coming this year!
24.01.2022 Day 8: Off the campaign hustings today due to an unplanned trip here....... J.D, my usually energetic 9 year old, is off to surgery with a suspected appendicitis. So grateful for our wonderful frontline health staff who are taking such great care of him.... #frontlinehealthheroes
24.01.2022 With #ANZAC Day upon us on Sunday, Queensland Parliament smells great as ANZAC biscuits are being baked to help raise funds for RSL Queensland. One of our delightful café staff, Tracey, who’s from my electorate of Nudgee, was on hand this morning as they disappeared out the door. You don’t have to come to Parlie, though. There are RSL stalls in our shopping centres and communities where you can buy biscuits and badges to support the wonderful work the RSL does with our returned service men and women. Here’s the tip they’re yummy with a cuppa! #lestweforget

While this event will focus on cyberbullying and keeping your children safe online, there’ll also be tips on how to support your child manage their ups and downs, and advice for both parents and children on how to deal with issues calmly and confidently. ...The Triple P seminar will be held on 20 May at Nundah State School from 6pm to 7.45pm. 24.01.2022 Under our Government 2,025 additional police will be delivered by 2025 - that's 150 extra police for our north Brisbane community alone This represents a record increase in police numbers statewide. This endorsement from the Queensland Police Union themselves says it all......
23.01.2022 GREAT NEWS: 36,000 travel vouchers will be up for grabs for holidaymakers in Brisbane and the Whitsundays. The Holiday Dollars are valued at $100 and $200, and give visitors 50% off at selected accommodation or tourism experiences. For more on the Whitsunday Vouchers visit: http://whitsundaysholidaydollars.com.au... The Brisbane vouchers will be available via a draw at www.Queensland.com from April 27 to 30. This is about helping tourism operators that are still doing it tough and is a great opportunity to book a staycation or invite friends or family to come visit.
23.01.2022 Job security in the public health sector In conversation this week, a constituent and QLD Health worker commented to me that his department has never been the same following the savage cuts experienced under the former LNP Newman Government. Job security in the public health sector isn’t just about jobs; it’s about the services that Queenslanders depend on most when they are at their most vulnerable.... While the LNP this week unveiled their health plan that means less nurses every year for the next four years , I dropped out along with my Labor colleagues to meet and stand with staff at the RBWH to give them our pledge that we will always invest in the frontline health services that Queenslanders need most. The contrast couldn’t be clearer, jobs not cuts.
23.01.2022 Day 11: on the campaign hustings, today it’s letterboxing! One of my favourite activities - exercise, sun and chats with locals. Happy Friday ... #LeanneLinard2020
23.01.2022 Happy Tuesday! Neil and I are out on Melton Road, Nundah enjoying the Spring sunshine and chatting to locals passing by.
22.01.2022 Good morning from Nudgee! Starting the day with a roadside stall with my good friend Veronica and Ollie. Thanks so much to Dave, a TAFE teacher who stopped by to give his support. ... Happy long weekend, stay safe. #ourcommunity #ournudgee
22.01.2022 Leeanne Enoch MP I think this belongs to you! We all know QLD is #goodtogo but you don’t have to travel this far to vote You might notice my flyer hitting mailboxes has some far away Pre Poll locations The printers have obviously mixed up the only two Le(e)annes in Parliament. Let’s hope all the MPs named Mark haven’t got the same problem. ... It’s not exactly close to home to go and vote in Algester, so make sure you get down to Church of Christ Hall, Cnr of Carlyle Road and Queenstown Avenue, Boondall or 7/37 Northlink Place, Virginia from Monday for early voting
22.01.2022 BREAKING: Some restrictions will ease early thanks to the strong health response of Queenslanders. 22.01.2022 Wavell Heights local Bree now has her art on display in the Nudgee EO Graphic Designer and artist Bree, made the move from advertising to set up her own independent design studio in 2007, to more easily work around her young family. She has been a huge success since, even featuring on Channel 9's 'The Block' last year!... I love to showcase and celebrate our local community and asked Bree if I could display some of her work in the Nudgee electorate office - alongside my favourite photos of our local suburbs, and local student artworks. She said yes - and I am so proud of these beautiful pieces! I hope the many people who visit the electorate office enjoy them. Thanks Bree . You can visit her website for more info at: www.secretweapon.com.au or on Insta at secretweapon_creative - and please remember to support local! #ourcommunity #ourwavellheights #supportlocal
22.01.2022 I find this really disturbing In South Australia right now the LNP government has bureaucrats telling doctors to turn away older patients because they can’t afford to treat everyone following budget cuts. I mention this because here in Queensland, Deb Frecklington and the LNP have made $24b worth of unfunded commitments. That’s a huge sum and they won’t say what they will cut or sell to pay for it.... We know what happened last time they were in though: they cut health spending, sacked staff and put our system under greater pressure.
21.01.2022 We have a choice this election: Strong, stable government or uncertainty and instability. I’m proud to be part of a Palaszczuk Labor government that has worked alongside Queenslanders to get our health response right and is now in the process of delivering our economic recovery plan. But for that recovery to continue, we need stable government and that’s something only Annastacia Palaszcuk and Labor can deliver this election.... The alternative is the mess of a Deb Frecklington-led LNP team that has given up on forming a majority and is instead trying to prop up minor party candidates of all stripes from anti-vaxxers to One Nation. They’re also banking on a $2m ad spend from Clive Palmer, who has been boasting he will spend enough to change the result of this election. We can’t afford to risk our economic recovery on that
21.01.2022 Our Nudgee Youth Advisory Council is locked in I’ve been busy interviewing the applicants over the past few weeks and have emailed them all to let them know if they were successful. Sadly I couldn’t take everyone, there was more interest than places. We’ve ended up with 18 members - and what an incredible and passionate group of people they are. I’m very excited to work with them all and hear their ideas for our community!... Our first meeting is next Wednesday and I’ll be profiling our council members on this page over the coming weeks. #ourcommunity #nudgeeyouthcouncil
21.01.2022 Proud to be surrounded by strong women leaders at the swearing in of the 57th Parliament. 21 of our 52 members of QLD Labor Caucus are women. By supporting women into positions of leadership ensures our voices are heard and experiences incorporated into the decisions that affect us.
21.01.2022 Growing up I used to letterbox Neighbourhood Watch flyers with my dad, who was the local Area Coordinator. Now my wonderful family letterbox with me!! Community service is in my blood and I’m proud that my boys are growing up with the same tradition of working to make their local community, our community, an even better place to live.... #ittakesateam #ourcommunity #LeanneLinard2020
21.01.2022 BREAKING: The Chief Health Officer has given the all-clear to ease some restrictions early thanks to the strong health response of Queenslanders. From 4pm today, Friday October 16: - Up to 40 people can dance at weddings with a COVID Safe Plan... - Dancing will be permitted at Year 12 school formals - Gatherings of 40 people will be allowed in homes and public places - Outings from aged care facilities can resume Together we have successfully suppressed our most recent outbreak with barely a handful of COVID cases across the state. Queenslanders have done a great job of fighting this virus and deserve to have restrictions lifted as soon as it’s safe to do so. Our strong health response means we can get on with Queensland’s economic recovery plan. It’s still incredibly important to follow the health advice if you’re unwell, stay home and get tested. #covid19
19.01.2022 This morning I had coffee with residents of Viridian Retirement Community, Boondall We discussed issues including local projects, the COVID-19 response, tax reform, investments in renewable energy and healthcare, over a great cup of coffee made in their onsite cafe by the lovely Mel. Thank you to residents for the warm welcome and for their strong investment in our community. ... I always thoroughly enjoy my visits. See you again soon! #ourcommunity #ourboondall
19.01.2022 COVID RESTRICTIONS EASING: Today we’re releasing a new roadmap to easing restrictions for October, November and December From today, you can have a drink or meal at your local without sitting down. Dancing will return to weddings from November 1. The roadmap is set for the NSW border to reopen.... Our strong health response means we can get on with Queensland’s economic recovery plan. #covid19
19.01.2022 Our Northgate-based Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Hub was front and centre with Deputy Premier Steven Miles today as Queensland manufacturing businesses showcased their wares at Queensland Parliament. It makes me so proud when we get to celebrate businesses and the jobs created at them from the Nudgee electorate.
18.01.2022 Mary Mackillop College Celebration of Excellence Mary MacKillop College, Nundah held their Celebration of Excellence Award presentation today to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of their students. From academic achievement, to sporting and arts awards, the day provided a wonderful opportunity to see what these MacKillop women have achieved throughout the year, and what a year 2020 has been!!... Congratulations to all award recipients. I know your families will be proud. #ourcommunity #ournundah
17.01.2022 Duncan, you served your community well, we will miss you.
17.01.2022 Started the day in the southern end of the electorate, finishing it up in the northern end, in Boondall under the Jacarandas. #LeanneLinard2020
17.01.2022 Sanfilippo Syndrome is a cruel disease - a form of childhood dementia that is usually terminal before a child reaches adulthood. My wonderful Electorate Officer Jill and her husband Brendan have twice received the devastating news of a diagnosis. Two of their children, Rory, 7 and Anna, 5, have the disease. They told their story to the Courier-Mail to raise awareness. Brendan is also hiking the Larapinta trail to raise money for research for a cure. I’ll include a link in the... comments. You can read their story here: https://www.couriermail.com.au//6c2bf15394c49a6332c9c660fd
17.01.2022 As the daughter and granddaughter of servicemen, Anzac Day is very important to me - as it is to many in our community - so I always try to attend as many events as I can in our area. This morning I attended ceremonies at Earnshaw State College and Northgate State School while my wonderful electorate officer Julie represented me at Boondall State School. There’s always something special about seeing our young people embracing this important tradition ... #anzacday2021 #ourcommunity
16.01.2022 Wonderful news - the Queensland border will reopen to Greater Sydney from December 1. This is the result of that area reaching the threshold of going 28 days without recording a case of COVID-19 that can’t be linked to a known outbreak. Victoria is expected to reach that milestone tomorrow, paving the way to reopen that border as well. I know this will be welcome news to people with family interstate, as well as many in the tourism sector. ... https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//queensland-to-reopen-bor
16.01.2022 Congratulations Mrs Mc! Music Teacher Extraordinaire! Virginia State Primary School's Mrs McLennan has been nominated as one of 4 finalists in the Music Teacher of the Year Awards. 14.01.2022 Morning from Zillmere Road! Neil and I are out greeting the residents of Zillmere and Boondall on this sunny Thursday morning. Have a great day. ... #ourcommunity #ourzillmere
13.01.2022 Kathryn McLennan ‘Mrs Mac’ has been inspiring budding young musicians at Virginia State School since I was a student there. She is a truly beautiful person who inspires her students to strive for their best and makes everyone around her feel welcome and valuable. She has created a music program which has put Virginia SS on the map as a Music School of Excellence. Which is why she is so deserving of her nomination for the 2020 Telstra ARIA Music Teacher AWARD.... The Veronicas, former local students themselves, surprised Mrs Mac recently to tell her of the nomination. Her response was priceless (see the video below) Don’t forget to vote by 18 November at: https://www.aria.com.au/vote The winner will be announced during the 2020 ARIA Award Ceremony in late November. Our community loves you Mrs MAC! #ourcommunity #ourvirginia https://m.youtube.com/watch
13.01.2022 We’re tackling youth crime head on, which is why our Youth Justice Amendment and Other Legislation Bill is being debated in Queensland Parliament right now. We know a small group of young offenders are committing almost 50 per cent of crimes committed by young people in Queensland. That’s why we’re investing in new services and extending the important programs and services that are working now with our young offenders, their families and their communities to get them back into education or into training and jobs. We’re taking the tough decisions to keep our community safe, and help these young people change their stories.
13.01.2022 We’ve been out delivering Christmas hampers over the past few days to local organisations and frontline workers. It’s a little way of saying thank you to those that serve our community. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my electorate office team for all the work they do to supporting our constituents every day. That includes Julz (pictured here delivering one of our hampers to Northside Connect) who is moving on after three years. Those of you who know Julz know she has always been friendly and there to help. I wish her all the best in her next adventure back into the creative arts.
12.01.2022 Our Youth Justice Amendment Bill was just passed in Queensland Parliament. These new measures build on the Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Government’s: Five-point plan announced in March last year to address recidivist offenders. $550 million investment in Youth Justice programs to divert and reduce reoffending. Stronger bail laws introduced in 2020... 33% increase in Youth Detention beds to detain those who are a risk to the community. These investments have seen a 23% decrease in the number of youth offenders over the past year, but there is always more work to be done because public safety is paramount and community confidence in our youth justice system is essential.
12.01.2022 BREAKING: the LNP will be working to get One Nation candidates elected in regional Queensland and Greens elected in the inner city this election. They will do anything to get elected, even though they seem to think their only hope is minority government. Only Anastasia Palaszczuk and Labor can provide the strong government and leadership to continue with our economic recovery plan.
12.01.2022 We're investing in a Prince Charles Hospital upgrade! This will mean a larger emergency department with more beds, more treatment spaces and more outpatient capacity for Brisbane's Northsiders. We’re making sure this happens as quickly as possible so we can meet the area's rapidly growing healthcare needs. It also means more construction jobs coming online sooner as part of Queensland’s plan for economic recovery.
11.01.2022 2,025 new police personnel by 2025. It’s a fully costed, fully funded commitment. The LNP cut hundreds of police jobs last time they were in government - we won't do that.
11.01.2022 An incredible 211 local small businesses here in the Nudgee electorate have benefited from the Palaszczuk government’s COVID adaption grants That’s more than $1.9m that has been provided directly to local businesses to help them through this extremely difficult time. I’ve been lucky enough to visit many of these businesses over the past couple of months and it’s great to hear how this support has helped them.... These small businesses have a vital role to play in our economic recovery so please make sure you get out and support the many great operators we have here in our community. #SupportLocal
10.01.2022 21,535 steps and counting on my letterboxing adventures today..... Found a few ‘funnies’ on my travels . For the record, I don’t mind the ‘Harry Potter’ glasses but the love heart tattoo and cigarette aren’t really my style.... . I think we might remove that ‘Mo’ from the boss too! ... Happy Friday! #LeanneLinard2020
10.01.2022 Fun fact: did you know that horses have excellent memories - possibly better than elephants? I know, amazing! For those fellow horse lovers in our community, I dropped in to the Hendra Pony Club, Northgate today who are hosting their Official Combined Training day. The boys came with me to cheer the riders (and horses) on during their dressage and jumping competitions.... Thanks to Lyndall, Gayle and the team for the catch-up. Always lovely to see you all. #ourcommunity #ourNorthgate
10.01.2022 Flashback Friday! I often talk about being a ‘long-term local’. For 3 generations now, my family have called Banyo home. These ‘very happy’ looking individuals standing outside their Bagley St home in Banyo are my grandparents and that super ‘cheery’ baby is me! ... Bagley Street and Fairway Place are the places I spent Christmas holidays, learnt about community, and what it feels like to have a stable home after so many years moving around RAAF bases with my parents. I love this community and I am grateful for what it has given me and for what it is now giving my two young boys. Serving our community as your local MP is truly a privilege. #ourcommunity #neverforgetwhereyoucomefrom
09.01.2022 We did it! Northgate Road Sign delivered! Earlier this year, a group of passionate Northgate Road residents contacted me about oversized trucks causing safety concerns and damage to much loved Weeping Figs on Northgate Rd by getting stuck on roundabouts and forced into dangerous multi-point turns. While the road itself is a Council responsibility, the residents calling for action (ably led by Kim, pictured) asked if I could help have a large advisory sign placed on the Sand...gate Rd shoulder leading into Northgate Rd to assist. The Department of Main Roads initially said no as such signs are also a council responsibility but after a lot of back and forth we were able to change their mind. It's fantastic to be able to deliver this for the local community. #deliveringforourcommunity #ourcommunity #ournorthgate
09.01.2022 Great presence at Nundah Markets Sunday morning - looking forward to catching up with everyone again there next week. #ourcommunity #ournundah
08.01.2022 In politics, as in life, it is so important to have friends that support and encourage you. These wonderful women Grace Grace MP, Councillor Kara Cook - Morningside Ward, Di Farmer MP and Jonty Bush - Labor for Cooper do just that and it was wonderful to come together to support some of our regional candidates.
07.01.2022 Day 7: Neil and I are back out on the hustings this morning, today in Wavell Heights. Have a great Monday! #LeanneLinard2020
07.01.2022 Nudgee College Leaders come to Parliament! It was such a pleasure to welcome the St Joseph's Nudgee College Leaders and Principal Peter Fullagar to Parliament today. After a quick tour, the College leaders watched debate in the House on the Youth Justice Bill and then joined with me in Strangers Dining Room for lunch.... I am always inspired by the informed and passionate views that our school leaders share during these conversations. From social justice to farming, economics, the law, arts and thoroughbred breeding, everything was discussed. These young men are a credit to themselves, their college and their families. I look forward to meeting with the college leaders of Earnshaw State College and Mary MacKillop College in the coming month. #futureleaders #ourcommunity
06.01.2022 52-strong! An absolute honour to be a part of this great team, led by the wonderful Annastacia Palaszczuk MP.

04.01.2022 BREAKING: Transforming the Gabba for the 2032 Olympics. With a main stadium 2km from the CBD, Queensland would have an advantage over other potential Games hosts.
04.01.2022 Right in time for Christmas holidays
03.01.2022 This is an exciting time in Queensland’s history: the chance to host an Olympic Games. World Expo 88 changed the face of Brisbane and left a lasting legacy of infrastructure. Being an Olympic city would do the same. Better yet, we can do it without building the costly white elephant venues we have seen in previous games. ... Let’s do this Queensland!
03.01.2022 Dropped into the Alderley Child Safety Service Centre to say hi to all the staff (and an extra to those I missed) and we ran into Dianne, who hosts a Fakers Christmas every year, where guests bring a gift to be donated to children whose families are doing it a bit tough. To our workers, volunteers and big-hearted community members - thank you all so much.
03.01.2022 From my family to yours, I wish you a safe and happy Christmas and holiday season. 2020 has been a tough year for many and I would like to thank everyone across our community for pulling together to support others through the pandemic. My heartfelt thanks to our tireless community groups, volunteers and frontline workers. What would we do without you .... #servingourcommunity #christmas2020
03.01.2022 COVID-19 Update: We're reinstating the hard closure at the Queensland-New South Wales border from 6am tomorrow. It means everyone's border pass will be checked to make sure they haven't come from Greater Sydney.
