25.01.2022 I curated and installed the Somerset Seniors exhibition at the Somerset Regional Art Gallery - The Condensery last week. Two high schools dropped out this year because of Covid so Kilcoy State School has the whole main gallery this year. If you're looking for a great day out check out the Condensery at Toogoolawah. Only 15 minutes drive past Esk. Great town with lots to see and some great food options.
25.01.2022 Anticipating that I would be doing a lot of photography during my 4 week residency, I packed a 32gb usb drive to back up the images What was I thinking. So of course I've now had to purchase a 1 terabyte external hard drive I think it will be enough....
24.01.2022 Sneak peek of some work in progress. Really enjoying my time here at Mt Wilson so many beautiful native plants and wild flowers everywhere. And the Blue Mountains colours from the wider landscape to the soil, the rocks and flora are spectacular and delicate and ever changing with the light. My work has to be inspired by this environment.
22.01.2022 Here's my ABC radio interview that I did last night about my winning artwork if anyone is interested. It starts at 2:38:14 https://www.abc.net.au//bris/programs/drive/drive/12695700

14.01.2022 Applications close today, 17 July, for the Mt Wilson artist in residence program. I was thrilled to have been selected for this residency in 2019 and the experiments and work I created during that time has significantly affected my arts practice and led to new series of work this year. The community was so generous during my stay and the location in the Blue Mountains is stunning and inspiring. Don't hesitate to apply for this one https://www.mtwilson.com.au/mt-wilson-/artists-in-residence
14.01.2022 I created this blueprint work during lockdown. I've entered it in the Flying Arts regional art awards 2020. Follow the link to check out all the artworks and my entry, Flourish, a textile work made of multiple cyanotype photograms of different flora as well as lots of little hidden creatures - grasshopper, cicada, snail shell, possum fur, wasp, spider, lizards, snake skin, bones and feathers. People's choice voting closes on 14 September. Congrats to everyone who entered and good luck. https://flyingarts.org.au//peoples-choice-voting-queensl/
11.01.2022 I'm so thrilled that I've just won the Flying Arts Qld Regional Art Awards 2020 with my cyanotype artwork Flourish. I won the Holding Redlich 'Art for Life' award and the Spotlight award. It's been 10 years since I was first selected for the QRAA touring exhibition, so to win it this year is a huge milestone for me. Thank you Flying Arts Alliance Inc. and all the sponsors that support regional artists through this award. A huge thank you to Holding Redlich for sponsoring my p...rize, the 'Art for Life' award and Louise Martin-Chew, Onespace Gallery and Art Words for sponsoring the Spotlight award. This is a career changing moment for me. 11.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone. While 2020 was a very challenging year I did have the opportunity to work more on my art practice, which paid off big time. Highlights were appearing in the Ipswich artists book, winning the Flying Arts QRAA and the Spotlight Award, Louise Martin-Chew arts writer writing about my work, being interviewed on ABC radio, the Ipswich Art Gallery acquiring my winning artwork and having poetry written about my artwork in the Poetry Qld Ekphrasis challenge. I... also established my profile on Bluethumb online gallery to experiment with online selling. I’m kicking off the year with an artwork commission that I’m creating in collaboration with the client to create a work about his home and garden. It’s my first cyanotype commission so I’m look forward to this and the possibility of more collaborations in the future. I’ll also be creating work for a solo exhibition and some art prize entries. Looking forward to visiting family in NSW when I can and spending more time on the coast and in the mountains to reconnect with nature and to inform my work. xo

10.01.2022 I hosted a half day cyanotype workshop yesterday in my studio at the Mt Wilson old public school. It was a great group of people and we had a lot of fun experimenting with the process. We used different types of papers and fabrics and of course a lot flora found around the studio and from participants gardens. In the evening I held and open studio event, gave an artist talk, and again got to meet more of the Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine community. Food and beverages were generously supplied by the Mt Wilson community.
10.01.2022 It was great to take part in the Australian Cyanotype group's contribution to World Cyanotype Day 2020. A huge thank you to Doug Spowart for organising and putting together a great catalogue of work that shows the range of practice in Australia.
