24.01.2022 Congratulations Leanyer Learning Commissioners - you nailed it. Quality feedback and understanding the levels of feedback can contribute to an extra 8 months of learning within the 12 months - academic school year. This is referenced back to world renowned education researcher John Hattie. Our Learning Commission have focused on surveying staff and students as well as developing staffs understanding of their effectiveness of their feedback and how they may improve it so that students are able to better learn.

10.01.2022 Australia will celebrate and thank the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day - Friday 30 October. [link to www.aitsl.edu.au/wtd] Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year, despite major challenges. It’s reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families and communities. On Friday 30 October, say a big thank you to teachers and celebrate the bright future o...f teaching. Post a photo in your sunglasses on social media, either on your own or with family or friends. Use these tags on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn: #thankteachers #brightfuture @aitsl. Let's show the Leanyer teachers, educators and support staff that we care. Watch out for communication on how you might get involved in celebrating our amazing school community.

03.01.2022 The Northern Territory Music School teachers demonstrated various instruments to students from Year 3 to 6 today. The purpose is for every student to be exposed to what is possible for them in Arts education. Research proves that students who learn an instrument are more able to focus, memory improves across all learning areas and emotional regulation improves. Instrumental programs are a wonderful creative avenue for individuals to use as a wellbeing strategy, particularly as they mature in middle schooling and beyond. Of coarse, there are many more benfits to learning an instrument. We encourage every family to get investigate this as an opportunity for their child/ren. For further information go to: https://www.ntms.net.au/
