24.01.2022 Before the next busy weeks before school goes back, we wanted to celebrate our honour roll of students from 2018! This is just a few of our fantastic students from Kinder-Year 12 that have made fantastic achievements. SARAH After six short months, she is graduating! 24.01.2022 Hello Leaps and Bounds Family, just wanted to give an update on COVID-19 in relation to tutoring. Although we have NOT had a confirmed or even suspected case of COVID-19 (Corona Virus), this is just to let you know what we are doing, based on the best medical advice, here at Leaps and Bounds Tutoring. We want to make sure that we are keeping the safety and health of our staff/students paramount. Our actions include: - Desks are fully cleaned on regular basis ... - Just 2-3 pens per student that will be disinfected between each student - Staff are disinfecting all equipment regardless of use (whiteboard markers, whiteboards, chairs) - Washing hands (20 seconds long) of each staff memeber and student before and after lessons - Santize hands regularly throughout each lesson. Hand sanitizer will be avaliable minimum one in each room - Anytime anyone uses the toilet, Anita will be personally cleaning all serfaces in toilet room. - We also have a professional cleaner doing the rounds here These measures are not to cause fear or alarm. We want to reassure you that we are committed to your health and well-being. ALSO, there is talk about term 2 starting later at school OR school finishing early and extending their holidays. We will be in our new premises (WHICH WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING SOON) and plan to still be operating at this time but parents will have the option of coming during the day (when it will be mainly empty), this is because we are currently only having minimal amount of people in one area. We are complying with World Health Organisations Advice at this time. The building is quite large. During the day there will be a maximum of 3 tutors and 3 students. There will be approximately 15-20 metres between student's work stations. Just a reminder to parents if your child is not well, please do not send them to tutoring we will offer a make up lesson, just cancel by 1pm on the day. REPEAT, do NOT bring them if they are sick. Staff have been instructed to not come in if they are ill! We will allow for any sick days needed in this way. Of course we will be taking this day by day and will make ammendments if ANYTHING changes. I'll give you updates as we go and always comply with the WHO's advice. Admist all of this stressful news, we are still so happy to see the progress of our students and have some very exciting updates to share when the air settles. 19.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Imogen and Josh (and our mascot Luna) who are expecting a baby in February 2019. Imogen has been on bedrest and is expected to be for the foreseeable future, but is missing her students like crazy! At this stage, as a very modest small family business we do not have the funds to move onto a big warehouse building. 10.01.2022 ONLINE TUTORING! We have transitioned most of our students to online tutoring via Skype. Although we have not been ordered to do so legally we think it is the best way to keep everyone safe. We will leave all of the worksheets in your mailbox (or email them- your choice) and do online tutoring sessions. They will be one on one (not pre recorded) and you can still ask your tutor to help with anything. If you are unsure of how to set it all up, please contact us and Josh will ...help, even if you want to drop by without the kids and Josh will set it up for you. YOU DO NOT NEED ANYTHING SPECIAL, any device can use Skype. If it turns on, it can likely use Skype. Now is the most CRUCIAL time to keep Your students in tutoring or start them NOW. We can help assist with any tasks you’ve been given at home OR continue with our regular curriculum (or a mixture of both). We do not RECCOMMEND pausing their lessons unless you have to, because as information has said, this could be for 6 months or longer and our education needs to be continued.
