15.01.2022 6 years ago, two shire based friends established Leap Therapy Group. The vision was to create a space that would provide our community with a clinic where families felt safe, supported and every child was seen as a whole little person. We have since grown into a team that is passionate, fun, supportive and above all love what we do. We hope our clients and their gorgeous families love their time with Leap!

14.01.2022 Speech Pathologists work with children to help build essential Social Communication skills such as eye contact, turn taking and emotions. We also work with older clients to develop their functional social skills such as ordering coffee, requesting assistance and participating actively in community activities e.g. team sports. Activities such as Peek a Boo, card games and board games all help promote turn taking skills.

14.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day, where we acknowledge members of the Stolen Generations. We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation and in building communities that value First Nation peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. #InThisTogether https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m32cvvJ0tqE

02.01.2022 March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. Cerebral Palsy is the most common childhood physical disability, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Recent population-based studies from around the world report prevalence estimates of cerebral palsy ranging from 1 to nearly 4 per 1,000 live births or per 1,000 children.... The symptoms of cerebral palsy are different for every child. Some symptoms are hardly noticeable, while others are more intense. More funding and research is needed to learn more about how to prevent CP.

This year more than ever these women have shown us their resilience and flexibility, and we are so grateful. Apologies to Renee & Emily who are missing from the pic. Brooke & Michelle
