16.01.2022 Truth: Breastfeeding in public is protected by law in Australia. You may have seen a new television show coming out soon, stating that breastfeeding in public i...s illegal. Nothing could be further from the truth. A mother has the right to breastfeed her baby or child wherever she happens to be. This right is legally supported through the Sex Discrimination Act 1984. The requirements of a baby are different to those of an adult, and all mothers have the right to meet their baby's needs. A hungry baby or distressed child shouldn't be expected to wait, and no mother can be forced to ignore the needs of her baby or child. More info here: https://goo.gl/z9teuC

04.01.2022 What does the World Health Organisation Recommend? Breastfeeding exclusively for the first 6 months... and beyond! What does this look like? In my experience t...his looks like breastfeeding 'beyond' infancy. Breastfeeding a child with teeth, who talks and runs about. A breastfed child who loves 'gym-nurstics' and obtains some stillness, nutrition, immune protection and comfort from being breastfed as we go about our daily lives. That is my normal. That is perfectly okay and in fact encouraged and backed by medical research and history. So next time you feel a little unsure about breastfeeding your no longer 'infant' child we want you to know that you're not alone and there are many benefits to this. A great response if anyone asks you about breastfeeding beyond infancy is this recommendation by the World Health Organisation where breastfeeding for 2 years and beyond is encouraged. Xx.
