23.01.2022 Wait and hope for the best? Or jump in now and get a head start on your studies and success. Universities definitely work hard to help you get started and gain the support you need to succeed. But there is a big gap. Massive and it’s a critical component to success. It’s all about You. What you, personally, need to understand about yourself as a learner, and the steps you can take to increase your grades, feel more confident, and ultimately graduate! Guess what? We can... help you at a fraction of the cost of your program (and for about the cost of a textbook - but one which applies to all your studies). Our online, self paced development program is available for you NOW and will prepare you for starting your learner journey before Term starts. Do you want to succeed the first time? https://courses.learn2learn.net.au Discover more about what we do and why: https://learn2learn.net.au

21.01.2022 #2 Time Management Is anyone else here finding that they have more to do and manage than ever before? And even if you do have more time - how well are you using it? Now is a great time to do a bit of a time audit - how are you spending your time? What are the big things you'd like to achieve each day?... What things are you using as a distraction? Procrastination, motivation, and overwhelm are our biggest challenges right now. Scheduling out time and sticking to it (near impossible if you have kids at home right now) is key. Being realistic is too. Can't manage home schooling and your own study at the same time? It might be time to block out school time and your time. Getting up half an hour earlier to knock some of your own things over before the kids are ready to "launch in" might be your approach. Or perhaps its afternoon "chill/tv" time for them that you can lock yourself away somewhere with headphones on for some uninterupted focus time. Just remember, its not ideal for anyone right now. Sometimes just getting out of bed in the morning is a winner. Celebrate your wins and avoid beating yourself up for misses. Take your time and stay as sane as possible.

A degree is a big commitment, and luckily one which becomes easier once you understand how you personally can design your own approach to your study. It’s this understanding (and putting it into practice) which gives you’re the confidence you need and takes the pressure off. Getting these foundational skills and strategies in place helps you achieve the grades you want without compromising your wellbeing.

14.01.2022 Don't discount the value of "short courses" - these can be an excellent way to upskill in an area of interest or to trial something new. One I've recently done is a Certificate in Transformational Embodiment - essentially tools to really get deep within yourself and not just understand your triggers and inner beliefs, but to also shift them and to take control of your own actions and impact. What's your latest interest or study passion?

14.01.2022 Memory and smell... i can remember being told that studying with a particular scent helped you to recall the information better if you had that scent with you in an exam... Nice try. Its just that you need to have a positive emotion attached to the learning as well. So feeling interested, curious, excited, wondering, happy, enthusiastic, etc etc as you study, about what you are studying is a MUCH better approach to boosting your memory recall!!

12.01.2022 Graduating vs giving up we can help you stay on track. It’s a fine line at times, but one that can be managed with 4 key steps: 1. Know what you want to achieve and why (purpose and drive). ... 2. Get in the right headspace to learn and understand how your brain helps and hinders you. 3. Find the strategies that work for you and help absorb knowledge like never before. 4. Plan and operate from a whole-of-life perspective. Study doesn’t happen in isolation from the rest of our lives. Obviously there’s a lot more we could go into, but once you’ve got these mastered, everything else will be much more manageable.

08.01.2022 COVID-19 generally isn't creating new problems - it AMPLIFIES what is already there. So if I'm doubting my ability even a little bit beforehand - my self-confidence will plummet during COVID-19. What is being amplified for you right now?

08.01.2022 Fast tip #4 Regularly check in and reassess how you are going - and recognise when to move on. The end of June is fast approaching - which is the perfect time to let go of frustrations and disappointments and get ready to start fresh for the next half of the year. This might look like:... - writing down all the things that you are ready to let go of, frustrations, disappointments, rejections, fears.... - writing down what you would like the next half of the year to feel like -> what sore of Vibe or Energy would you like to have? -> what would you like to see, hear, think or feel (frame it positively)? - writing down what you are ready to receive - writing down how you are going to BE for the rest of the year You might find this gives you a bit of a framework to set some short term goals for the rest of the year, which is a great way to navigate uncertainty when long term goals seem too elusive. Remember goals that incorporate how you feel about the result are much more powerful that just a neutral statement. "Its the first of November, 2020 and I've just found out I received a HD in Sociology! I'm so excited! My family are going to celebrate with Pizza tonight!" You can visualise it (actually, I can almost smell the pizza and its making me hungry!) and feel the emotion. It becomes much more real and therefore achievable! When you believe it is possible, it becomes possible! Lets have an awesome rest-of-year regardless of where we are!

07.01.2022 Top Tip # 3: Rest and recover. When you can, take a break. Switch off and just chill. Particularly in the evenings. Not a procrasti-break (where you have planned to study but are avoiding it), but a scheduled break. Dedicated you-time to relax and recover.

06.01.2022 Why its important to plan before you start. What do you need to do before you start your studies so you are in the best possible position to succeed?

05.01.2022 10 tips for 10 days of study... 1. Motivation. Set aside 15 minutes to brainstorm in a distraction-less place (yes, right now this could mean the bathroom) with a notepad or sheet of paper. What was your original motivation for starting studies?... Is that still what you want? If not, why not? What has changed? Are you motivated to continue? If not, why not? What do you want to be doing instead? How can you frame your desired end result so that it feels exciting, motivating, and yet still acheiveable? Re-read it - does it make you feel inspired to get into your study? If not, how can you change it? When you are happy with it - put it up around your space to remind you of what you are working towards. Feeling stuck? Post what you have in the comments below, and let's work on it together.
