23.01.2022 RAINBOW BEANS SENSORY PLAY Beans make such a great sensory bin filler. They feel cool to the touch and have a nice weight when you hold them by the handful. They also make a lovely soothing noise when you run your fingers through them. Children love to explore, investigate and play in an unstructured way and sensory tubs are perfect for this exploration. We made some rainbow beans for sensory, imaginative and creative play time fun. We used beans, ziplock bags and different fo...od colouring to dye the beans. This sensory beans will be re-used several times for future play experiences as we have stored them in container. Benefits of sensory play : * It helps to build nerve connections in the brain. * It encourages the development of motor skills. * It supports language development. * It encourages 'scientific thinking' and problem solving. * It can involve mindful activities which are beneficial for all children.

14.01.2022 EYLF Learning outcome 3.2 Children take increasing responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing. Today we practiced yoga outdoor in the beautiful weather. Yoga with children offers many possibilities to exchange wisdom, share good times, and lay the foundation for a lifelong practice that will continue to deepen. Yoga presented in a child's language can help counter the stress experienced by little ones living in a hurry-up world.... - Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. -Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner light that all children have to the surface.
