22.01.2022 Tutoring has so many benefits. So many in fact I had to split this blog post in 2 but read on this month as I cover the following benefits: 1. Learning difficulties 2. One on one personalised attention 3. Builds study skills... 4. Increases understanding 5. Personalised and direct feedback 6. Increases knowledge 7. Improves listening and communication skills 8. A greater connection between teacher and learner 9. Increases motivation and desire to learn 10. Improves attitude toward a subject area 11. Improves questioning and thinking strategies 12. Enhances self paced and self directed learning Did you think there would be that many wonderful benefits for your child from tutoring? Just thinking there’s more to come next month too. 21.01.2022 Who does this? Don't give up hope, it may happen one day.
19.01.2022 The purpose of tutoring should be to help students help themselves and guide them to the point where they are an independent learner and no longer need tutoring. This isn’t relating to their schoolwork either but when it comes to mindset too. Check out the other fabulous benefits of tutoring here too ---> https://learningboosters.com.au/why-get-tutoring-for-your-/
19.01.2022 Have you been wanting to encourage your child to read more? Have you tried bringing books to life and relating them to real life? Have a think about what your child is interested in? If it's planets for example read a book about planets and then watch a documentary together. Want to know more check out my last Wisdom Wednesday video >>> https://learningboosters.com.au/wisdom-wednesday-11-ways-g/
18.01.2022 Do something you love everyday. Mine is getting to walk on the beach. I realised around when covid snuck in that I was sent out. Be kind to yourself. What do you do that destresses you?
17.01.2022 Another great benefit of tutoring is that it improves a child’s thinking. If a child is stuck on something then rather than giving them the answer the tutor helps them discover the answer themselves by asking open ended questions why didn’t that work, why do you think that answer wasn’t correct. This helps the student make connects between their ideas and evaluates the information critically by thinking and solving the problems themselves. Making a great skill when it com...es to the real world as they grow older. Want to know more? 10.01.2022 Are you thinking about engaging a tutor for your child? Weekly tutoring sessions can make a huge difference with your child’s schooling. Whether they’ve gotten behind at school due to sickness, due to COVID-19 schooling at home, or just need an extra helping hand. We all learn differently and discovering how your child works best will do wonders for their learning experience. Or having that extra bit of support in a safe environment or having some dedicated one on one support... can really make a difference to your child. If your child doesn't like to speak up in class to say they don't understand in case they're made fun of then a private one on one tutoring session will be perfect. Tutoring will help them to regain their confidence in a safe environment. I work with children and young people in Prep through to grade 8: Maths English Music Vocal coaching And Meagan works with students from years 9 onwards in: Modern and Ancient History for years 9+ Maths for years 9 - 11 Geology for years 9 - 11 Geography for years 9 - 11 Advanced English for years 11+ Reach out now via pm if you have any questions or would like to discuss working together. ~ Zoe.
09.01.2022 Getting kids more involved in reading can be hard. But if you find something they're interested in sometimes that can be the key you're looking for. You could try finding a book that's been made into a movie and entice them with a movie night to watch the movie if they read the book first. For other tips and advice on enticing your child to read check out my Wisdom Wednesday here >>> https://learningboosters.com.au/wisdom-wednesday-11-ways-g/
08.01.2022 Do you have a young child that isn't all that interested in reading? Why not read a book together and then get them to a draw a pictured about it. You could even join in and draw one too. For more tips and advice about encouraging reading in your kids check out my blog post here >>>https://learningboosters.com.au/11-genius-easy-ways-to-get/

08.01.2022 Today I finished up with some of my students. It is a happy sad day. I'm happy that they are feeling confident and ready to go on with their learning journey without me and Sad as they have been wonderful to work with. One grade 2 student gave me these flowers from his mum's garden with a beautifully handmade card. Thank you
07.01.2022 Tag a friend who can relate to this. I remember when my child was young it really did feel like this some days.
06.01.2022 What are your thoughts?
04.01.2022 Oh look....school holidays are here again! It can always be a struggle to think of ideas of what to do with the kids so we have come up with our top ten things that we used to do.
03.01.2022 We love feedback from our parents. Here's what Heidi has to say about her experience with me helping her child with her times tables: "I am very happy to recommend Zoe! We discovered our 9 year old was really struggling with her times tables during lockdown and contacted Zoe. She has only been working with my child for a few weeks and already we’ve noticed her confidence in maths has increased, she seems to really enjoy maths problems now. I am super impressed with Zoe’s appr...oach to teaching times tables especially as my child literally learnt one of them in 10 minutes and had it memorised. It’s such a weight off as a parent, to have a child really understanding and enjoying maths and I am pleased that working with Zoe is going to help set up the foundation for my child’s learning going forwards. Zoe liaises with my child’s teacher to ensure that the way she tutors is in line with what is happening at the school as well which is fantastic. My little girl tells me that she finds the sessions a lot of fun and looks forward to them every week! 03.01.2022 Feedback please. If you could wave a magic wand and make your biggest fear of your child falling behind at school disappear, what would it be?Feedback please. If you could wave a magic wand and make your biggest fear of your child falling behind at school disappear, what would it be?
