23.01.2022 Our Sunshine preschoolers took part in the 2019 Science Competition on 'what does it mean to be healthy'. Our preschoolers turned their class room into a talk show - 'KIDS Know it all'. We had three special hosts, Dj, camera crew and our amazing audience. Followed on from our discussion about healthy foods, we decided to create a battle of the blenders. As we had the red team in one corner and the blue team in the other. The mission was to create the healthiest smoothie. Eac...h team had till the end of the 'baby shark' song. We could only have one winner! and that winner was the red team.......... We sent the film in and a few weeks later received a phone call that the preschoolers came 2ND place and was invited to the award ceremony. This was an opportunity we could not miss so with the help from our amazing educators and families we were able to take the children to the city to receive an award. A BIG congratulations to our preschoolers.

Our preschool scientist turned their classroom into a science lab as they were conducting science experiments from Lego volcanoes to blowing up a balloon with just a coke bottle and a mint. Science helps children develop key life skills, including an ability to communicate, remain organised and focused, and even form their own opinions based on observation. ... 13.01.2022 Fire Prevention is Everybody's Job.... The importance of educating and protecting children from the dangers and trauma that can be caused by fire, especially fires in and around the home, is widely recognised. Our very own Little Fire Fighters got a surprised visit from our local Riverwood Fire Safety. The Riverwood Firefighters spoke to us about the importance of fire safety and how to keep us safe through these important messages GET DOWN LOW and GO GO GO and STOP, COVER, ...DROP and ROLL. Our Little Fighters were also given the opportunity to sit inside the fire truck, listen to the siren and having a go with water hose. We also set up a fire safety sensory area and role play area for the children to revisit and extend their learning. Below is a link to access further information about fire prevention https://www.fire.nsw.gov.au/

13.01.2022 At Learning Wonderland we have been introducing Sustainability to the children. The children were involved in creating a cubby house out of recycled wood, placing our scraps from morning/afternoon tea into our compost bin and getting a very special quest from CLEANWAY to talk to use about our environment. By showing kids the difference they can make as an individual and as a group, they actively learn how to help make a sustainable future possible.

08.01.2022 The Team at learning wonderland would like to wish all our wonderful mothers a big Happy Mothers day. Mother's Day is an occasion which is celebrated in various parts of the world to express respect, honor, and love towards mothers. The day is an event to honor the contribution of mothers, acknowledge the efforts of maternal bonds and the role of mothers in our society. To celebrate this great occasion, Learning Wonderland held a High Tea. The children enjoyed pampering their mum's in our mommy spa station, our photo booth to capture the wonderful memories, craft station and biscuit decorating station.
