25.01.2022 We had a special visit from a local author, Alicia Millier who has recently written a children's picture book about the recent bushfires in Australia. Alicia read her story to our Kindergarten children and asked them questions about her story and what they knew about bushfires. This was a wonderful experience for the children to discuss the events of the story and share their understanding with Alicia and their peers. Mummy, the bush is on fire! is available to purchase fo...r $20 per copy and is located in our foyer. The funds from each sale will go towards the Currumbin Rescue Wildlife Clinic and to the families of the volunteer firefighters who never came home. Thank you Alicia for sharing your book with our children and staff at Learning Avenues Childcare and Kindergarten and allowing us to be involved in helping highlight the impacts of bushfires in Australia.
