02.01.2022 This week the kindy wombats have been learning about the Nyoongar season of Djilba (August - September). They have been talking a lot about the wattle trees that are blooming at the moment and have created their own wattle art pieces using Pom Poms! Did you know that the Indigenous Australians used wattle trees for so many things like... didgeridoos and tapping sticks out of the wood? using the flowers crushed up with some water as a medicine paste to treat itchy skin?... even eating the gum from the tree and roasting new roots for a little snack? They are very amazed and have been enjoying stopping to smell the flowers coming out this spring (Djilba)! Thank you to our Early Childhood Teacher Lucy for organising such creative and engaging learning experiences for your beautiful wombats.

01.01.2022 Today 11 of our dedicated educators spent the morning refreshing their CPR and first aid skills with Wayne from Allen’s Training. Regulations require at least one educator to be present at all times with up to date first aid training. We now have 100% of our staff trained to administer first aid in an Education and Care setting and ready to respond to a medical emergency if required.
