24.01.2022 You’ve learnt how to be lean but the final 5 kg are stuck firm to your body and you wonder what now? Five kilos can actually be very healthy so please know it’s ok to leave them where they are BUT I know some of you aren’t happy with that so here is a healthy, realistic plan to move those suckers on! Hope to see you there .

24.01.2022 Lunch number 1. Prosciutto, peach, pine nuts, rocket, cucumber. I’ve had people comment they don’t like fruit in a salad or a savoury dish and I would have agreed once. I think it’s important to always revisit things we haven’t enjoyed in the past, both in a food sense and a life sense, because our tastebuds change and so do we. Keep exploring to expand your list of things You like and enjoy. #healthylunch #plantsandprotein #salad #lunch #peach #proscuitto #healthyfood #healthyliving #balanceddiet #learntobelean #nutrition #dunsborough

23.01.2022 I'm very excited about our 4 week program Learn to be Lean that starts tomorrow night. For all the fence sitters who are interested but not sure if its for them or what its about, here is a little list for you. ITS NOT: - A Diet (diets dont work) - A "challenge" (not my style, dont see the point in doing something you can only do for a number of weeks and not forever.) - A cookie cutter program or one size fits all (you can just buy one of those off the internet without leav...ing the house for an hour for 4 weeks in a row, but 99 percent of people dont actually use them or follow through on them). - Hard or complicated. Yes it takes dedication but any sort of change does but it is a simple process and not a painful one or one to be fearful of. - About giving up everything you love or enjoy or pushing you to change who you. (Pretty sure everyone has already tried that and we know it doesnt work because it isnt sustainable.) WHAT IT IS: - The opposite of everything above :). - A program that addresses the stuff in your head so you can come at things from a different angle. - An education on separating the big stuff (the stuff that gives you the most return for your energy spent) from the small stuff (the stuff that people tell you is important so they can sell the latest XXXX to fix it). - Accountability. Everyone can do with a support team in their corner especially while they are trying to unlearn all the insignificant rules they have been brainwashed with and while they put knowledge into practice in their busy life. - Inspiration. Who doesn't love simple recipes and food ideas thrown at them every week so they dont have to think about what to cook. If you would like to join us and try a different approach we still have a couple of spots left :). https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/learn-to-be-lean-4-week-pro See more

22.01.2022 Road tripping to Perth always calls for a packed lunch so I don’t have the impossible task of finding something on the road that I actually want to put in my body. I never stray far from this chicken salad option except to add some crackers, vegan cheese or maybe some nuts. The 10 minutes (or less actually) that it takes to prep this is always factored into my schedule, there is never a thought of is there enough time or do I really need to do this. It is merely a habit, I h...ave been doing it for years and therefore it’s automatic. It’s part of what I do. That’s the power of habits. Repeat them often enough and they become automated and thus no longer require mental energy or any decision making around them. Breaking habits that don’t support your goals or more importantly drowning them out with good habits that get you closer to where you want to be, is the KEY to permanent change. #learntobelean #easyfoodprep #healthylunchonthego #foodcoach #nutritioncoaching #healthyhabits #healthylunch #packedlunch #roadtripfood #healthyliving #eatyourveggies #healthyfood #plantsandprotein See more

21.01.2022 Just a good old salmon patty for dinner tonight. Upped the veggies by using mashed cauliflower and sweet potato. Upped the flavour by adding dill and capers and serving with an avocado wasabi mash. #fastfood #healthyfood #eatyourveggies #dinner #foodprep #learntobelean

20.01.2022 Like I said to my son as he screwed his nose up at my choice of afternoon tea, you haven’t lived until you’ve eaten a peeled Granny Smith apple with peanut butter! Why peeled? Because it tastes better . And perhaps there’s a bit of sentiment as it reminds me of stealing the peeled apple slices as Mum prepared them to make apple pie when I was a kid. Yep there’s plenty of good stuff in the peel but I’m not eating it. I eat plenty of good stuff all day everyday to compensat...e. The orchard run grannies at the Bunbury Farmers Market are the . @mayversfood Protein Peanut Butter is my go to here, the sweet apple and salty peanut butter.... those who’ve had it will understand . #healthysnack #learntobelean #peanutbutterislife #plantsandprotein #healthyfood #funfood #apples

17.01.2022 Home from a weekend in Perth late is the perfect excuse to skip dinner or get takeaway food OR why not let dinner cook itself while you unpack and run around like a mad person getting kids sorted or getting ready for work tomorrow. Chicken thigh (bought diced to save time), sweet potato and cauliflower thrown in an oven tray with oregano, thyme, lemon zest, salt and black pepper, roasted until the chicken is brown, the potato is soft and the kitchen smells wonderful. Cook s...ome beans if you have time and if not, no biggie, leave them out. You could also stir through a couple of handfuls of spinach at the end of cooking to wilt. #fastfood #healthyfood #foodthatcooksitselfwhileyouwork. See more

17.01.2022 Over 20 years ago I lost 20kg and kept it off for over 20 years give or take a couple of pregnancies and a little wobbly patch when I hit early menopause in my early 40’s. It took me 12 months to lose 20kg. I didn’t set foot in a gym (I hadn’t found that love yet), I never banned any foods from my diet and ate chocolate every day still . I enjoyed a drink with friends on the weekends and it wasn’t hard. The hardest part was making the decision to never go on another diet. ...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Protein and plants, always my go to (but not the only foods I eat or "allow" myself). My motto is "give your body what it needs and make it taste great". Chilli, garlic and ginger take care of that last part and these enoki mushrooms add this amazing texture like noodles :).... I also love the colour of this turkey and veggie stirfry, love eating pretty food.

15.01.2022 I have been meaning to have a play at making veggie dips for a while now and I finally got the ball rolling this week with this pumpkin one. I like a veggie based dip as it means you can eat lots of it without having to ration or measure out portions. I am unable to eat dairy and legumes dont agree for me so veggie was the only base I could think of if I ever want to dip again. I will use this base recipe and play around with types of veggies and flavours now and see what e...lse I can come up with. Remember I dont use recipes, put stuff together and see how it tastes and adjust accordingly. I think this is the recipe for this pumpkin dip. PUMPKIN DIP - 2 cups of cubed pumpkin, roasted (with some oregano) - 2 tablespoons of tahini - 2 tablespoons of lemon juice - 2 tablespoons of olive oil - 2 teaspoons of cumin - salt to taste Put all ingredients in the food processor and blitz til smooth. Note - I think some garlic would make a good addition here. I would roast it with the pumpkin.

14.01.2022 I have learnt that for long term fat loss success your healthy eating needs to be consistent. I’ve learnt the best way to do that is to make your food choices simple and make them enjoyable. Here’s my simple afternoon tea. -Tea with a scoop of collagen. -1-2 carrots... -1 tablespoon of high protein peanut butter. -3 passionfruit grown with love Protein, plants and a little bit of fun. My afternoon cup of tea serves a couple of purposes. 1- I look forward to it as I love tea and it signifies a break in my afternoon, a time to stop and sit. 2- it gives me a little boost to get through my 5pm training session. 3- it gets me through my tired part of the afternoon (around 3pm) which alleviates the fuck-it’s and poor food/lifestyle choices due to tiredness. Love what you eat and you’ll never feel the need to stop.

13.01.2022 Having trouble getting out of bed on these wet, wintery morning? Well I have the cure!! I couldn’t wait to get up this morning because I knew this breakfast was waiting for me, that I prepped last night. Roasted apples and yoghurt. For a textural change I decided to roast the apples to keep them firm. I roasted some peeled grannies in the oven with some coconut oil (organic butter is even better ), cinnamon, ginger and vanilla. Served up with a dollop of coconut yoghurt, co...llagen for protein and walnuts for crunch. It’s definitely a keeper! #healthybreakfast #healthyfood #apples #protein #winterbreakfast #desertforbreakfast #learntolean #eattothrive #eatfoodyoulove See more

13.01.2022 Fat loss is not an event it is a lifestyle. Fat loss is not something you "do" it is something you live. Sadly so many people have the wrong idea about what ...this lifestyle looks like. They conjure up thoughts of diet restrictions, daily exercise smash sessions and pretty much giving up anything they find fun and joyful. I have a different view and a different experience with fat loss and actually only finally lost the weight when I stopped dieting, stopped trying too hard and made sure I put fun stuff into my life. Everything we experience is a teacher and I love to share. This Saturday morning i will be sharing my view on addressing Fat Loss After 40. This 2 hour seminar runs from Regency Beach Club at 8am and I hope will be full of aha moments for those attending. Tickets are available from this link. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/fat-loss-after-40-tickets-4 13 seats are taken and there are 7 left if this is up your alley.

07.01.2022 The single easiest way to upgrade your nutrition to lose body fat is to learn how to love your veggies and eat lots of them everyday. If it is left up to me to make a salad most days for lunch it will consist of a carrot and a capsicum eaten whole as I generally cannot be a$%s*d after I have just taught and trained clients for 5 hours and often squeezed an hour of my own training in their before lunch. Prepping vege works for me and I like em roasted this week! Chuck som...e chilli tuna in with em and sometimes some leafy green stuff and I am sorted. Pesto or fetta also makes them sing but I like things simple so dont feel the need.

07.01.2022 A banana with water or almond milk and a scoop of protein makes a good post workout shake and is suitable pre training or as a morning or afternoon snack. But if you spend just 1 more minute and add a few more ingredients you can come up with something decadent that you look forward to downing and because it tastes so good it will keep you from heading for processed or calorie heavy food later when you are chasing a big flavour hit. Here are my 2 go to shakes at present tha...t I have pre or post training. Pina Colada Plus 1 small or 1/2 large banana 1/2 to 3/4 cups of fresh or frozen pineapple 3/4 cup of Nutty Bruce Coconut and Almond 1 small lebanese cucumber 1 handful of spinach a few sprigs of mint juice of a lime 3/4 cup water 2 scoops of collagen or 1 scoop of protein powder Blitz in nutribullet or thermo. (if you are using protein powder I would add after you have blitzed the other ingredients or it will make it go fluffy in texture which i dont like). I put it in a shaker and add protein powder in and shake to dissolve if using. Collagen blitzes fine without changing texture. Snickers Shake 1 small or 1/2 large banana 1 date 1 heaped teaspoon of peanut butter 1/2 cup of Nutty Bruce 3/4 cup of water 2-3 heaped teaspoons of cacoa 2 scoop of collagen or 1 scoop of protein powder. Blitz in thermo or nutribullet. See above note re protein powder.

03.01.2022 Dinner and lunch is in the oven. A baking dish full of veggies, herbs and a drizzle of olive oil. It took 5 minutes of prep and tomorrow it’s easy to: -Add a tin of tuna slices and a little pesto. - Add some grilled haloumi.... - Toss through some salad greens with a little feta and some leftover chicken. A find a quick bit of food prep when I’m in the kitchen doing dinner anyway makes for quick and delicious lunches when I’m busy. #simplefood #eatyourveggies #foodprep #healthyfood #learntobelean See more

02.01.2022 Late lunch or early dinner . Got home from a shopping trip (I really don’t like shopping) and was well overdue for food. Knowing I was in need of proper food aka protein and plants I whipped up this fish taco . Would have been great in a tortilla but alas none of those but I did have cos lettuce. Fish (tarakihi), dill and capers with a little real mayo and squeeze of lemon, on a bed of purple cabbage and red capsicum. I poached the fish in a little salted water and whole meal prep from start to finish under 10 minutes. Eaten in under 3 . #fastfood #healthyfood #healthylunch #fish #fishandsalad #proteinandplants #healthyfoodfast #eatyourveggies #learntobelean #foodcoach #nutritioncoaching #dunsborough
