25.01.2022 Our first mobile distributor is up and running! Beta Tack LLC, operating out of Ohio in the U.S. has one of our cabinets filled with rolls of most of our colours as part of their mobile tack shop. We hope they do well travelling to all the horse shows and events.

21.01.2022 Since announcing the upcoming closure of Leatherite we have received an unprecedented number of orders. We are working very hard to fill all orders as quickly as we can. Please be patient if your order is taking an unusual length of time to fill. We are happy to part ship orders and backorder outstanding line items. Just inform our friendly staff if this is required. 19.01.2022 Some of our keeper lines are running out! We are starting to run out of some colours and sizes of keepers. Black in 13mm and 16mm are out as are purple and navy in 19mm and red in 13mm. To have more made in the items that we are out of we will need to set a new price of .20 cents per keeper and have orders totalling at least 3,000 in that size. So please let us know if you are going to want any of the sizes above so that we can place an order to have them made for delivery early in the new year.

18.01.2022 We have upgraded our white polymer to something whiter and brighter. The new polymer is more stable in all conditions and will be less likely to fade or lose its whiteness. We have started manufacturing already, so look our for this exciting improvement!
17.01.2022 Ok, so just the 19mm to go today. Sorry for those looking for 25mm, but we are just clearing the stock that we have an excess of. We do have a complete range of 25mm 15 metre rolls available at $37.75. In 19mm 30 metre rolls at $20.00 we have white, tan, fluro orange, black and matte tan.

07.01.2022 We are close to offering 1.25 metre lengths for belt making. The cost for 25mm will be $1.70 for Apollo and $2.90 for PN. What do you think of the Fluro Orange?
07.01.2022 After many requests, we have added Teal to our colour range. Available now in all sizes of both PN and Apollo with keepers to follow in the coming weeks. We are up to 30 colours now and building. Our glitter will be next so stay tuned for that!

06.01.2022 Yes it's true. After 45 years John and Betty have decided to retire, bringing to an end this Australian family owned manufacturing business. John and Betty have poured their heart and souls into Leatherite over the decades and our older customers will have enjoyed a long relationship with the owners who have been very hands on in the business. Leatherite have continued to develop and improve the products and processes from the early days of dip coated webbing to the more robu...st extrusion process that we use today. Continuous improvement has been at the forefront of Leatherite's success and has kept our quality ahead of the competition for the life of the company. We will be winding down production between now and the beginning of 2020 until we have enough stock to continue to distribute until June 2020. For this reason any specific and out of the ordinary products will need to be ordered before the end of this year to ensure supply. John and Betty would like to take this opportunity to thank the large number of customers who have stuck with the Leatherite brand over the years. This industry is no different to any other with cheap imports both in the raw materials and finished products creating on going challenges for this business and the businesses of our customers. It has been very pleasing that such a number of customers and end users still appreciate the benefit of quality over cost and of supporting local jobs.

04.01.2022 We would like to announce that we have a final orders date of the 19th of February. We have been very pleasantly surprised by how the market has responded to the closure of Leatherite. There has been much positive feedback about the product and the service offered by our staff which we really have appreciated at this difficult time. We have received the equivalent of nearly nine months of sales in three months which is as pleasing as it is challenging. We are endeavouring to... complete orders as quickly as possible and we thank you for your patience. Please note that as we near the end of manufacturing there is likely to be items that become uneconomical to manufacture. This will occur as we run down stocks of polymer for example where the minimum buy is 100kg. We will inform customers where some items on an order cannot be supplied and again we thank you in advance for your patience. As always we thank all our customers for their support over many years and wish you the very best for the future.
03.01.2022 For those customers that manufacture reins with the dimpled outer sleeve over our Apollo strapping, we now offer a thin walled polymer shroud in continuous length in black only. We understand that this product has become difficult to source. We offer this in 150 metre spools @ $2.65 per metre + GST.
