12.01.2022 We were thrilled that the Lakes Post gave our tournament a full page coverage this week! Some great croquet was played over the weekend, & we congratulate all the winners, and thank everyone who participated or worked behind the scenes to make it the successful weekend it was.

12.01.2022 ANNUAL LAKES ENTRANCE CROQUET CLUB INC. DOUBLES HANDICAP TOURNAMENT The weekend of September 22-23 brought thirty six croquet players from various areas such as Morwell, Sale, Bairnsdale, Drouin, Maffra, Brunswick, Mornington Peninsula, Warragul, Traralgon and Orbost into the town for a weekend of Golf Croquet. Experiencing a very pleasant weekend players in each of the two Sections A and B, played 8 games in all taking up to an hour for each game. The Referees of Elma Spe...ksnyjder, Barbara Henwood, Elaine Hancock, Myra Clasby and Rhonda Smith view and officiated on many really challenging games. Overall the winners were:- Section 1: Winner: Bill and Terri Manwaring from RNB Club on the Mornington Peninsula Runners Up: Kath Willems from Drouin and Robert Smallwood from Morwell Section 2: Winners: Geoff Webb from Lakes Entrance and David Barrett from Bairnsdale Runners Up: Val Stevenson from Bairnsdale and Lorna Clarkson Brunswick Many participants enjoyed a Saturday night social evening at the Lakes Entrance Sports and Entertainment Centre as part of the weekend tournament. The Tournament was sponsored by the generosity of many of Lakes Entrance Club Members along with Raffle prizes generously donated by Morrison Meats, Lakes Entrance, Lakes Entrance Fishing Co-operative, Charnwood & Florist, Lakes Entrance and Lakes Entrance Hardware and Building Supplies. The Club thanks all the club members for willingly giving of their time in the preparation and running of the tournament. If you are interested in finding out how magnificent the game of Golf Croquet is, anyone of all ages are welcome on a Wednesday afternoon 1.00pm 3.00pm, Thursday or Sunday mornings 9.00am 12.30pm. Experienced teachers are available along with equipment required. However, flat soled and covered in shoes must be worn. 11.01.2022 Thanks Bob for some great pics, and well done on taking out the Division A Singles title once again. A great win for Geoff in B Division too, a terrific outcome for someone so new to croquet. It was a great tournament, efficiently organised by Rhonda, and encourages us all to keep playing to the best of our ability. Well done too, to the runners up - Peter B in Division A & Patricia in Division B.
