How our women supported each other without judgment but with safety an...d care was remarkable and I applaud each and every one of you ! Relational interactions and connectivity is something you will not find in a counselling room ! Our people heal trauma through a process of being connected to their cultural strength! To close the suicidal and mental health gap ! It needs to be filled with culture! Culture is the missing piece in the gap ! Non Indigenous people don’t know our culture so they can’t close the gap ! I was an approval junkie, l relied on the approval of others to validate me, to recognise me, and to see me. When you look for approval in the eyes of others you are destroying yourself and l refused to conti...nue to do to this, l refused to starve me of my own love. Instead, l went within and found the greatest treasure of all, me. I realised the approval of myself had a much greater value than the approval of others.
