10.01.2022 LEE ACADEMY STUDIO-WIDE ANNOUNCEMENT Dear Lee Academy Students & Parents in all AFTER SCHOOL programs, I hope that everyone is keeping well, safe & happy.... All of a sudden it is the 2nd week of November, and it is time to publish an important update for all in our Lee Academy family! Your patience, understanding & loyalty is so very appreciated in what is a very unusual & challenging year for all of us = together. Myself, Damian & the Lee Academy Senior Management team have weighed up all options & come to some final decisions that will ensure continued strong viability for the business, & lessen the impact of concert costs for all Lee Academy families. We have now produced what we know will be a wonderful and triumphant conclusion to the year that is 2020. This year the AFTER SCHOOL program classes will perform all of their routines in age-group specific showcases. These showcases will be held at Lee Academy, in (surprise!) our very own newly installed Primal Playhouse. In recent weeks, we made the decision to go ahead & install a full theatrical lighting rig, new audio system & installed an operations box on level 2 in Studio 5, essentially transforming the space into our own theatre. This is where we will hold all our AFTER-SCHOOL program performances this year & I am sure will be a valuable resource for many years to come. The showcases will be performed in separate age groups, following current COVID restrictive guidelines we can host an audience of 50 for each show, & each age group will perform their showcases multiple times so that all our wonderful students can enjoy the precious & important feeling of performing for a live audience, including loved ones. These showcases will be professionally video recorded, professionally photographed live & awards will be presented at the conclusion of the shows. Tickets to the showcases will be sold at a highly discounted family support rate of $10 per ticket. Running shorter length shows with less audience & utilising our own facility which all the children have already been attending, minimises COVID risk & helps prevent cross-contamination of age groups & families. It also decreases the risk to my staff members & gives the expert Lee Academy Team more control over the environment & surroundings. This year will be different, but will be equally as special. All the details of these showcases, amended dates & ticketing information will be emailed to all of our wonderful Lee Academy Families within the next 24 hours. I am so very excited to see you all, & share in celebrating our kids’ resilience, determination & joy for dance. We are in this together & we will rise together.
