16.01.2022 Proud madam white goshawk - build complete. She's been finely painted over with super white porcelain - which won't be very noticible yet - not until she's fired. 09.01.2022 KILN UPDATE: Yesterday's first kiln firing went up to just over 1000*C... and now I wait for it to cool down. This works well for me as I have a healing event to host, drawing to draw and a bunch of Patreon messages to write shortly... so by the time all of that is done, the kiln should be cool enough for me to open and start decorating the pieces that need it. I want to be able to get the kiln on asap... however it will take me 3-4 days to decorate, glaze, clean and re load... for the final glazing firing. Let's see how it all flows and goes. 08.01.2022 Oh dear.... I had a quick little peek into the kiln, and it looks like Mr Tawny Frogmouth has flopped over a bit and is likely stuck to the kiln wall!!! Now I will have to distract myself for a few hours until the kiln is cool enough for me to open and have a good look. I will stay optimistic until I have the facts of the situation. 07.01.2022 At the moment I am not completely sure when my next ceramic pieces will be available - when I will get the kiln on next. I'll see how things flow, how I feel and what finds new homes. 07.01.2022 Hmmm... someone fell off the 'perch' today.. flattened face and some repairing is underway. Sets me back from 2 days of work on this sculpture, however it certainly could have been worse. So... I've reattached this little guy to his feet and will reattach head later. Taking this as an opportunity to reposition the body and head better. ... Noted... the volatile temperature changes in my new workshop space require a damp cupboard... using plastic (as usual) doesn't work in this environment. It leads to condensation, then soggy clay, then collapse. Learned...
