11.01.2022 STAY AWAY FROM THE LEOPARD SEAL! A leopard seal is not your run of the mill seal... it's only predator is the killer whale and it does not like people or dogs t...o get close! Marine Mammal Foundation says a leopard seal has been spotted on Eastern Beach at Lakes Entrance. Have you seen it? Dr Kate Robb says people should keep a distance of at least 30 metres! For dogs, it's 50 metres! " They do have incredibly sharp teeth. They are top-order predators and can take down seals and penguins and a whole lot of things. So really, when these seals come ashore just give them some respect." Photos: Christine Watterson, Marine Mammal Foundation
