17.01.2022 Please do not feed your animals these disgusting treats. The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. They regu...larly cause intestinal blockages and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. Please be safe with your dogs! See more

16.01.2022 ***UPDATE: We received another $200 overnight so that brings the total to $1500 that we can pay off Jack's vet bill!!!*** ***TARGET SMASHED!!!! Our wonde...rfully, kind hearted supporters came through once again and have given us another reason to love them. In just a few hours, we raised nearly $700 towards Jack's vet bill. With our initial contribution of $600, that means we are able to pay $1300 off Jack's bill and provide some much needed financial relief for his owner. Thank you to everyone who donated, and shared and liked the post. The Canberra Community (and our brethren in Queanbeyan) are the best!!!*** Meet Jack. He is a beautiful Red Heeler and the beloved companion and only friend of our client. Jack and his mum are inseparable. Recently, Jack needed major surgery on invasive peri anal tumours. The lovely Dr Marc at The Gables Veterinary Group performed the surgery and gave Jack's mum a BIG discount on the surgery. However, she was still left with a bill of $2000. Being on an aged pension, this is a big bill to have. We have been able to contribute $600 from our current limited funds towards paying off the bill but we are hoping some of our kind supporters might be willing to help us get that to $1000. It would make a huge difference to Jack and his mum and show them that the Canberra Community is there for them in their time of need. If you would like to make a donation, our bank details are below. As we are registered charity, all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Just remember to email us your contact and donation details to [email protected] so we can send you a receipt. Jack and his mum thank you in advance.
