25.01.2022 Just inducted another member at last nights meeting. Welcome Barbara and thank you District Governor Beverley for performing the induction. Barbara has joined us at a busy time with -- delivery of phone directories, Bunnings sausage sizzle,Lions Christmas cakes and gift wrapping in December at Stockland Bull Creek. Lemming Lions going great. Come and visit us.

19.01.2022 A special thank you from the Willeton Personal Advocacy Group for the donation from the Leeming Lions Club.

19.01.2022 A couple of photos sent to the Leeming Lions Club from Vicki Toohey of their Noongar Christmas Party. Our Lions Cakes and Puddings were given out and were greatly appreciated. One person cried as her father was with Lions for 50 years and now 92 years old is in a nursing home with dementia. She will be visiting him on Christmas Day to share some cake with him and the staff. Our Club wishes everyone a wonderful Christmas.



19.01.2022 This a box of "old" spectacles from a retirement home that will be sent to underdeveloped countries for people with poor eyesight. A part of the Lions International Eyeglass Recycling Program.

19.01.2022 Enjoyed an evening at the Hilton listening to Maggie Beer and Prof Ralph Martins talking about their collaboration on a new cookbook "Maggies recipe for life" . Prof Ralph Martins mentioned the Lions McCusker Alzheimers Foundation a couple of times..

18.01.2022 Might not be Christmas , but you could be celebrating Christmas in July, or just feel like a great cake or pudding. So we are selling cakes and puddings at Southlands Shopping Centre, Willetton for the next week from 9am to 3pm. Gavin will be there, all smiles ready to sell you a cake and happy to have a chat about Lions.

17.01.2022 Last night we welcomed Allison as a new member and Gavin as a transfer member into our Club. Induction ceremony was conducted by Zone Chairperson Steve Berry. A good start to the year for our membership with the hope of a further membership increase in the following weeks.



16.01.2022 Changeover Evening at Citrus Indian Restaurant in Leeming. Great night, great food and company. Many thanks to Marie for organising and to the Presidents and Members from other Clubs in the District for attending and taking part. We also welcomed three new Members Ella, Steve and Melissa into the Club.

The Leeming and South Perth Lions Clubs will be selling cakes and puddings and gift wrapping at Stockland Bullcreek from 11th to 24th December. 13.01.2022 The Clubs successful applicant for the Lions Community 100 Grants Program was Oberthur Primary School. A grant of $2000 has greatly enabled the Oberthur Boys Shed Project to advance giving students (mainly boys) with some learning and attention span difficulties the opportunity to be part of a team participating in the restoration of bicycles and the manufacture of billycarts. One photo shows the boys outside their shed with the Projects Organisers in Raylene Throssel and Helen Taylor, three of the boys mentors, and Leeming Lions President Vic and Secretary Lawrie. 13.01.2022 A very enjoyable breakfast welcoming the start of 2021 was had by our members, partners, friends and guests last Saturday at Lo Quay Cafe. Guests Kate Doust, Upper House Member for South Metro and Jag Krishnan, Labor Member for Rivertown spoke very favourably on the opportunity for our Club to obtain funding for three special cameras used for the Lions Eye Health Program of testing school children’s eyes. Thanks everyone for attending and making the morning another great time on our social calendar. Sure there will be more to come.

10.01.2022 The end today for our gift wrapping at Stockland, Bullcreek. We are always amazed by the generosity of the kind people we wrap for. Thank you so much as all money we raise goes to many worthwhile causes. Thanks very much South Perth Lions Club for once again combining with us in this very rewarding project. A special thanks to Chantel and Grace , two year 8 students who volunteered their time to assist us with the gift wrapping. 08.01.2022 Two weeks of gift wrapping and Lions Christmas Cake and Pudding sales at Stocklands, Bullcreek has once again proved a successful time for the joint project between Leeming and South Perth Lions Clubs. We continue to be amazed at the generosity of the public when having gifts wrapped. We would also like to thank the Management of Stocklands, Bullcreek for allowing us to continue with this very worthwhile project. The Leeming Lions Club also thanks non-member Sammi and high school students Chantel, Grace, Deborah and Sophie for their great assistance on a number of days. Happy New Year everyone. 07.01.2022 This present posed a little problem but the bike was soon covered in a few layers of paper. Gift wrapping over the past two weeks has been very rewarding and we are amazed at the generosity of the public who had gifts wrapped. Thanks also to Stockland Bullcreek for giving the Lions Clubs of Leeming and South Perth the opportunity to take on this project as well as allowing us to sell the Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings.

02.01.2022 President Vic visited Brookman Primary School with a very appreciated donation of $500. Teacher Lyn Taylor indicated the donation would go towards the establishment of a herb and vegetable garden as part of the development of a safe, environmentally friendly nature play area for children at the school. The objects of the project being to develop the childrens physical, emotional and social skills. The photo shows President Vic with Lyn Taylor, staff and the school children in one of the proposed areas to be developed.

02.01.2022 For anyone looking for a Lions Christmas Cake or Pudding or a bit of gift wrapping see Gavin of Leeming Lions Club at Southlands , Willetton. Gavin will be there until 6th December and then the Lions Club of Bullcreek will gladly sell you a cake until Christmas Eve.

02.01.2022 Another very successful couple of days in October testing children’s eyesight as part of the Lions Eye Health Program. With the assistance of Lions from Gosnells, Waroona, Baldavis and Boddington we were able to test some 220 children from Leeming Primary School. Thanks to everyone who has assisted in this very worthwhile project, with our aim to cover the many Primary Schools within the City of Melville.
