18.01.2022 Very excited!!!! Received the New GScan3 today. The latest vehicle diagnostics scan tool by Gscan. It arrived just in Time to test it out on a customers 200 series Landcruiser that was having a minor problem causing a few warning lights to appear on the dash and went into limp mode. The new Gscan 3 is a lot faster than the Gscan 2 and more user friendly. ... Highly recommend it. See more

18.01.2022 Has your cabin/pollen filter been replaced lately. Most cars have these filters fitted these days to filter the air that comes out of your vents in the dash. They are often overlooked during a service just like the one in the pic. I often find them moldy and covered in rat or mice crap and leaves. I surely would want to be breathing air that has gone through that filter.

10.01.2022 Brake failure!!!! Had a call out to a little truck this week that was serviced 3000km ago by a local truck workshop, and this is what I found. There is no excuse for brakes not being inspected during a service. ... Driver is lucky this didnt result in a serious accident. See more

09.01.2022 This customers low hour mower had a bit of a rattle. Turned out the cooling fan was broken which was also causing the engine to run hot and it started to melt the engine cover and the bonnet. Often if you smell something or hear a noise in your car or mower etc its probably worth getting it checked. Lucky this hasnt gone on too long and caused major repairs. ... Happy Sunday everyone

08.01.2022 Beware!!!!! Is log book servicing enough to ensure your vehicle is maintained correctly? The vehicle in this video has 40,000km and has previously been serviced by the log book. As you can see the transfer case oil is in poor condition. The concern is that this vehicle manufacturer recommends these oils to be replaced every 250,000km or 10 years. Yes thats right!!!!... Could you imagine what this oil would look like after 250,000km? Manufacturers extend service intervals to keep running costs down, enabling them to offer a lower fixed price servicing period, but is this reducing the life of your vehicle and components. Yes log book servicing may get you through the warranty period but it may hurt the pocket in the long run. Lees Mechanical can service your new vehicle without compromising your manufacturer warranty, whilst ensuring items needing attention outside of the log book requirements are identified.

04.01.2022 Check out the carbon and oil sludge in the intake of this 200ser Cruiser with 120,000km. The carbon build up is caused by the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve, and the oily sludge pooling on the rhs of the picture is caused by the crank case ventilating back into the intake. All this crap is building up as it passes through your engine and starts restricting air flow resulting in loss of power and often increased smoke from the exhaust and white/grey smoke on start up.... Late model common rail diesels are known for this problem due to their design. A crank case ventilation oil catch can will catch the oil and prevent it going into the inter cooler and air intake system. An EGR modification plate will reduce the amount of carbon building up in your engine. The earlier these items are fitted to your new vehicle the better, to keep your intake clean. Give Lee a call for more information about what options best suit your diesel. P.s look closely at the last pic and you will see a starter motor hiding in there. I wouldnt want replace one of them on the side of the road
