23.01.2022 Eastern brown snake release. Caught from preston cemetary yesterday.

22.01.2022 Tiger snake rescue. This poor bugger got itself caught up in the mesh fencing along the garden bed on a property in Kinglake. A snake in this position is very vulnerable and defensive and trying to bite anything that gets near it. Managed to safely cut it out without causing further harm. Snake has a few lacerations, but with the right care, it will be right to be released and continue living its life.

21.01.2022 Not all tiger snakes have stripes. These are a couple of my captive tiger snakes. One patternless, and the other, a silk black tiger snake from kangaroo island

15.01.2022 Eastern brown snake. 2nd most venomous snake in the world. Deadly? Well yeah potentially. Saw this snake out basking on the dirt track earlier today. I get asked alot of the time; why isnt the snake trying to bite you? Chase you? Kill you? Your crazy etc... Well basically thats not the way snakes operate. As you can see i pose no threat to the snake so its happy to go along its own way and be left alone. Why is it slithering toward me? The snake would have no doubt come out from the bushlands behind me, and thats where it wants to go back to. Snakes are not aggressive, but defensive. Given said that, im experienced in reading their behaviour and understand the animal. I know what they are quite capable of, and i know if i pose no threat, then i dont have anything to worry about.

14.01.2022 And on the odd occasion, i get calls for plastic and rubber snake sightings. Keep your distance from these dangerous fellas

12.01.2022 A few pics of a couple of my captive spotted black snakes/blue belly black snakes

10.01.2022 My captive bred coastal taipan. (Oxyuranus scutellatus) Found along the northern east coast of Australia, often seen in the canefields of cairns, cooktown, up to cape york across the coast of northerm territory, and also in papua new guinea. A very large species of elapid, they can grow up to 9 ft long, precision striking accuracy, very very fast, strong and highly toxic venom. Ranked 3 in the world of venom toxicity. Arguably the most dangerous snake in the world.

08.01.2022 Eastern brown snake tango with a bluey at the northern hospital. Bluey seems ok so far, so fingers crossed. Fortunately, both animals live but the snake will remain hungry until its next feed. Cheers Stewy the snake catcher for passing on the call.
